Neville and Augusta Longbottom in the Audiobooks

Oh my lord I love them! I’m a huge Neville fan anyway, and I know some folk are fans of the Longbottom accent in the full cast audiobooks but I love it. Always enjoy a bit of Northern representation.

Neville and Augusta at St Mungos in OOTP made me tear up, but something in Deathly Hallows their making me so emotional! The part where Neville is telling the trio about how Death Eaters have gone after Gran, and then again when Gran turns up and tells them that “of course” Neville is fighting. All the emotions.

As a lifelong fan of the franchise, I thought I knew these books inside out, but the full cast editions are just something else.

Any British Mensa Harry Potter fans?

I’m Tess, and I’m a huge Potterhead, as well as the SIG secretary for the Harry Potter Special Interest Group for British Mensa.

If there are any Potterheads in the sub, it would be great to see you over in the community, and I’m always looking for contributors for the newsletter.

As well as the on screen aspects and Wizarding World in general, I’m also super keen to start exploring some of the behind the scenes in the community.

How did you ask your bridesmaids?

This is the little box I’ve put together for my “bridesmaid proposal”. It contains a little bottle of prosecco, a nice chocolate bar, a candle, hand cream from Sorrento and tissues (because she will cry). I’m also waiting for a Joma Jewellery “little bridesmaid” bracelet to arrive, as well as a Sketched by Siena card.

I’m only having one bridesmaid so I’m going to take her out for a nice lunch and give her the box to ask her.

Does the box look ok? Too much, not enough? And how did you ask yours?

The wedding is not until September 2027, but I’m hoping to start lining up appointments for the end of this year for trying on wedding dresses.

Most of the bridal shops I’ve looked at offer two options - an “instant fit” and a “bespoke dress”.

I understand the difference between the two, in that one is sent off to be made and fitted exactly, and the other is an off the shelf, usually end of season etc.

I’m not very fashion forward, I’m a size 10 and I don’t really want to spend an excessive amount on my dress, but I also don’t want to be disappointed.

What do most brides here do? I’m in the UK if that is relevant.
