Can't launch the vast majority of non-steam games through Steam.

So if I add the exe as a non-steam game, then run with Proton (as I've done for years), clicking play will result in the game beginning to load, but it doesn't get anywhere, because before a load screen can show up, the play button switches back from "Stop" to "Play".

Through a Proton log created when launching these games, I can see that the game's launch, but Steam is force closing the application immediately.

Anyone else had this?

Steam Machine vibes (GTA IV at 4k 60 with Fusion Fix on Bazzite Linux)

I've had a 21:9 1440p QD-OLED Ultrawide now since 2024, and I've largely gotten used to it. It's a 34" panel (so 27" in height). - The refresh rate maxes out at 175hz, and since I play a lot of Counter-Strike, I was considering selling this, and 'upgrading' to a 32" 4k WOLED 240hz panel, with the ability to push 480hz in 1080p (great for CS).

I also use my PS5 on my Ultrawide monitor, and since there's no support for that, it means having the black bars, and it just kinda sucks.
