Set in a fictional rural county inspired by modern Southern drama, Caldwell County offers a grounded, story-driven writing experience.

At the center is Ashford, a polished small town where politics, law, and reputation keep everything in line, at least on the surface. Beyond it sits Pine Springs, a fast-growing resort community filled with wealth, development, and outsiders rapidly changing the landscape. And further out is Millstone, a hard, isolated town where community matters more than law, and the people rely on themselves.

Land that’s been held for generations is now being bought, sold, or fought over. Influence shifts through business, politics, and personal ties. Some are trying to hold onto what’s always been theirs. Others are trying to take it. Old money dynasties and new money corporations clash, all while smaller factions operate between the gaps.

And between all of that, there are parts of the county that don’t hold up after dark. Unsolved cases, stories that never turned into cases, and a plethora of urban legends fill the county’s memory.
