I know about the Worm and Harry Potter ones, which loosely kind of count, and then there’s the two Mother of Learning ones, the Defiance of the Fall one, and Reverend Insanity. Are there any other CYOAs for book series of this genre?
Imagine if there were a machine that could be connected to your brain, and could act as a perfect, more efficient version of some part of your brain. From what I saw before posting this, it seems like your body would start replacing where it does those functions in the machine and repurposing the brain section being replaced.
And what if over time, more and more sections of the machine are added, and take over more and more of your brain? Eventually, would it be left as a functionless vestigial thing in your head, while the machine hosts your new brain?

Is there a fic where Naofumi doesn’t get as completely crushed mentally at the start, and while he does end up buying Raphtalia, he despises the fact that he needs to use slavery to survive?
Maybe even make it to where he plans on fighting against slavery when the waves and mass death aren’t the immediate biggest threat?
