I worked for an old man for 8 years, he’s been roofing for almost 60 years. I switched company’s to be a foreman for my friend from school and learned decent bit of Spanish. I learned the “fast Hispanic way” a the slow correct way I was taught to pop every line. Boards and jacks every 66”

I do construction now and roof repairs after work. But it seems every company here in WV, all have Latinos.
I’m 28 and take pride in my work. But is everyone just okay with the standard of quality of the install an quality of the materials going down hill?

Im raised by my pawpaw an I have a great work ethic. But im just starting to ask myself what’s the point? People can make the same money else where being salesman an such. Hell cutting grass. Working hard and redoing roofs my old boss has done 30 year prior, had lead me to be stand firm on what will last, an what will fail. I created a passion for roofing. Just feel less enthused to keep doing what I do. Idk.
