In Hyperproxy for Europa Universalis V we find a scenario where the main point of divergence (apart of other not that relevant) is the Nuking of Bucharest in 1945 by the US, which caused a more Soviet-leaning Europe and the creation of the Franco-British Union to fight back against Soviet influence. Since then, Italy got split North-South, and the Soviet Union started a controversial slavification program in East Germany.

The Chinese Civil War has been paused in an armistice since the 1950s, while an Unified Korea has adhered to Neutrality. The Naxalite–Maoist insurgency has evolved into one of the main conflicts in the Indian Subcontinent while in the other side the Laotian and Cambodian monarchies are very unstable from communist influence from the PRC and North Vietnam.

Decolonization goes in a different way in Africa due to the Kingdom of Kongo, its sphere of influence and the Boer Union in the southernmost parts of Africa. Meanwhile in the north, Egypt and Libya are pushing for the Arab Socialist project, with the Republic of Arabia and the recent Baathist Iraq.
There is also the Religious side of it!
In the Americas we find an United States led by Robert F. Kennedy fully recovered from the pariah status on the late 1940s. In this last decade, the 1960s, USA has successfully built a sphere of influence in the pacific, with Indonesia, the Republic of China and the Republic of Japan. The aggressive recovery of US influence, the already distrusting european allies lead by the Franco-British Union led to the divide of NATO into two separate organizations, the European Defence Union, and the remnants of NATO in North America. 1972 Elections are close, and there are rumours that the distrusting Democrats will not support RFK running again, despite the high approval due to the potential lose of the right-wing voters of the party.
In South America, we find the Patagonian Worker's Councils, a soviet satellite state controlling the southernmost lands on Earth outside of Antarctica, and the varied dictatorships in Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, and the latest addition, the Coup in Henryville (Rio de Janeiro OTL) in the french-speaking Antarctique.
