my_qualifications: 2025 CSE BTECH undergraduate with a final GPA of 7.88 with 2 backlogs (cleared) and ~1year of work experience as an SDE

1. One credit subject in 1st sem that I didn't write because I was absent for it
2. a 3 credit subject (analog and digital electronics) back in 3rd sem but had to attempt 5 times to clear it.

I am looking to target german universities for a masters degree, preferably the Summer 2027 intake. I will have exactly 1 year of work experience as an SDE by august and I'm worried about the 2 backlogs I've had. Of course It'd depend on a lot of other factors like IELTS score, SOPs, LORs, the uni's requirements themselves, etc but I'd love to know if having said backlogs would greatly lower my chances or not

What are my chances realistically? Any insights would be helpful. Thank you!

I’ve done my bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from a college in India and graduated with a GPA of 7.88 (German converted to 2.06) and would like to why my chances are at decent public universities (obviously the top ones are out of reach). I know it’s irrelevant but I have 1.5 years of work experience and I’m targeting the Summer 2027 intake.

The big drawback is that I had a backlog in one subject (Digital Electronics) which I had to attempt 4 times.

What are my chances realistically? Thank you!
