New Story - Mahiro's Good Fortune Chapter 1 has just been published
Mahiro's Good Fortune Chapter 1 has just been published. Enjoy:
By now, we all know the story of Mahiro Oyama. How he was once a hikkomori shut-in who had given up on life due to feeling inferior to his genius little sister Mihari. How he would've eventually died if Mihari didn't intervene and turn his life around by using a drug to transform him into a middle-school girl. How this single action and a few little pushes from Mihari managed to introduce Mahiro to one person, then another, and another, until eventually there was no more trace of the lonely, friendless, and borderline depressed boy that she had once been. And all of this started thanks to a mind-blowing event that no one, least of all Mahiro, could've ever seen coming.
However, what if that was not the case at all? What if there really was someone out there who did know that all of this events would eventually occur? Someone with the power to glimpse ahead and see this future years before it happened? Someone who, fearing this outcome, attempted to intervene in order to prevent it from occurring, but may have unintentionally sealed its fate?
Well let me tell you now, this was indeed the case, and this is the story of how it all went down.

Two Characters, One Voice Actress (Mahiro Oyama and Eve Callusleader)
I wonder if this means that should Onimai get an English dub, that Trisha Mellon will voice Mahiro as well. Based on her performance as Eve, she'd certainly rock it.
On Ranma Wiki, would you prefer that Chapter and Episode Pages are titled by Chapter/Episode number, or by the actual English Chapter/Episode Title?
Hi Everyone. I'm one of the bureaucrats on Ranma Wiki, and a long-running debate has once again ignited regarding the consistency of the wiki compared to other wikis based on Rumiko Takahashi's series (Urusei Yatsura, Inuyasha, MAO, etc), all of which are collectively owned and governed by a shared group of people (Ranma Wiki is the only one of these which I have a stake in).
Shortly after me and someone else co-adopted the wiki a few years back, the latter went to work changing the Chapter titles to redirects and making them appear as 'Chapter 1', 'Chapter 2', etc. I was against this, instead favoring for the other way around, meaning that 'Chapter 1' would instead redirect to 'Here's Ranma (Chapter)'. They intended to do the same for the Episode pages, but we eventually struck a compromise where the Episode pages would remain untouched while the Chapter pages were indeed changed to be consistent with the other Rumiko Wikis.
Lately though, the issue has once again become apparent, with the other bureaucrat still favoring the changed system for the Episode titles, whereas I am arguing to the current one in place. I would also really prefer to change the Chapter pages back to their official English titles, but I am not going to rock the boat given our current agreement.
That's why, I would like to ask all of you what you think. And in doing so, I will bring up the pros and cons for each system as it relates to Ranma 1/2 (I'm personally in favor of Option #2):
- Make Chapter/Episode Pages 'Chapter [x]'/'Episode[x]' (in the latter, parenthesis are used for designation between the 1989 anime and 2024 anime should the titles overlap)
- Pros:
- Makes general searching for specific chapter/episode numbers easier on the Wikis
- Makes adding links for navigation templates easier, though this can be mitigated by using these specific links as redirects to the longer titled pages instead.
- Cons:
- Inconsistencies in some cases, especially when it pertains to the nature of ordering. Ex: Early Ranma 1/2 episodes were not aired according to production order, and thus the current ordering system according to the wiki and Viz Media's home releases puts the Martial Arts Figure Skating Arc trilogy as part of Season 1 instead of Season 2 when it aired.
- This system fails to take into account sequel series on some of the other wikis like Inuyahsa, where the start of Inuyasha: The Final Act is counted as 'Episode 168' as if the previous series never ended, whereas that is most certainly not the case. They are two distinct shows, despite being continuations of each other. The 1989 anime consists technically of two series, Season 1 and Seasons 2-7 + OVAs, originally designated as such in Japan, but currently treated as one series, with the current Wiki count order emphasizing this. Had the 2024 anime been a continuation instead of a remake, we certainly wouldn't have called the first episode of that series 'Episode 144' or 'Episode 157'.
- Inconsistencies with general web searches. Most web searches like google always search by title these days, and will search for pages that share that title. IMDB makes it easy to find specific episode titles because of that, whereas someone might feel less inclined to look at a page if it does not share that title right off the bat. Would you pick
- Pros:
- Maker Chapter/Episode Pages [Official English Chapter Title]/[Official English Episode Title] parenthesis are used for designation between the manga, 1989 anime, and 2024 anime should the titles overlap between the three.
- Pros:
- Makes it easier to look up specific chapters/episodes. This is especially useful for Ranma 1/2 due to its episodic nature, as many posts here on Reddit reference specific moments, with the titles of episodes from the 1989 anime being particularly well-remembered. When the titles appear as such in a google search, it also provides consistency with sites like IMDB, making it easier for newer fans to get the information that they seek should someone tell them about it.
- Just feels more natural. Does anybody out there really remember or care about the specific numbering of an episode other than that of a short-form series? When searching up a Spongebob episode for example, it's next to impossible to know off the top of your head the exact number of the episode. In fact, the owners of that wiki seem to be fully aware of this, as Episode pages there almost never reference a specific order outside of the actual season that said episodes are a part of due to the fact that many episodes premiere abroad long before they debut in the US. If talking about Ranma, I'd be much more pressed to tell someone about 'Am I...Pretty? Ranma's Declaration of Womanhood' or 'Happosai's Happy Heart' over 'Episode 49' and 'Episode 77' respectfully, and would search them up as such
- Most wikis (not just for anime) that I've seen use this system, making the specific titles the main ones while leaving redirects in place for the specific episode numbers. Consistency across across a small group of databases is one thing, but greater onsistency with the standard across the web as a whole seems to speak for itself.
- Cons:
- Can sometimes make searching for a specific episode number harder, but this can be remedied with a redirect to 'Chapter [x]' or 'Episode [x]', which will send the user to the appropriate episode should the user type those queries into the search box.
- Pros:
So anyway, I've presented the arguments for both cases. Which specific format do you prefer based on everything that I've just said? and why? (I would've made a poll based on this, but couldn't find the option to do so.)

Just had one of my best hauls in years, all of which came from my favorite store
Haven't been there in over six weeks, and it was totally worth it. Kept the prices on there just so you could get a better idea of just how insane the deals I got were.
