Opinion: The swat vest is more useful than you think it is

1: there is no penalty to using it which gives you extra effective 25 HP for free (100/0.8 = 125).

2: regeneration is indirectly buffed by it due to the vest offering damage resistance instead of extra HP, meaning you can effectively heal above 80 HP. This is useful when taking cover in a fight or once you finish a fight. How this works is because a player will regen a fixed amount of HP (around 3hp/s??) regardless vested or not and if ur vested and get shot later u lose less regenerated HP.

3: certain guns actually lose a lot of effectiveness against vested players, MSR and shotgun for example can only one hit previously regenerated players if they aren't vested and if they are vested then it doesn't one hit them upon full passive regen.

4: being able to survive 3 more PPSH shots is actually useful because nobody hits 100% shots on a very moving target (if I have to guess it's like 15-45% based on average Roblox rivals AR accuracy, assuming competence of course) so it does buy you quite some time to take cover or hit your one stun gun shot. All automatic civ guns have shitty damage at range so ur practically immortal past like 100 studs which is ~30 meters.

Obviously you need to have comparable aim and skill with the opponent for the vest to be a sizable advantage, the vest isn't gonna save you if you're moronic like the NATO tactics guy which then probably only the immune mode can save you if you are.

Passive mode rework idea

Apparently quite a number of y'all do not want passive mode gone so I have an idea:

To activate passive mode (for officers):

- You do not need to remove your firearm or your non lethal weapons

- You have to opt out or opt in (you're opt into combat by default) of combat at your spawn's weapon locker, which your combat state changes will only apply after you respawn

- when opt out, you will not take any form of damage if you do hold out your weapon. BUT, your items cannot affect others in the PvP sense, for example, your gun will not damage criminals or cars and your taser will not work on stuff UNLESS (read below point)

- **the criminal or civilian or any player will have to explicitly consent via a prompt to engage combat with you, which they will be able to damage you and you can affect them. they can opt out at any time outside of a combat state*

This is to prevent abusing the combat mode feature while also allowing the few people to roleplay in public servers without being shot at "for no reason." If you're gonna complain that it's consent based, I'm gonna tell u that if they don't wanna play along with u then they shouldn't be forced to as they won't give u a majestic rp lmao.

Passive mode for criminals:

- pretty simple, not having a gun would make them in combat but only to officers, meaning that other criminals cannot damage unarmed criminals but officers will be able to interact with them as if they're in combat.

This is to encourage criminals to equip guns to fight cops or weigh out whether the threat from other crims are higher than threat from officers.

Majority of items in ERLC are useless

Like dawg why make a gun or item if it's just gonna be a worse version than the others. For example Colt python like ur telling me it takes 5 whole shots to kill? It's the worst gun in every category, ammo - you can only kill 1 and a quarter of a guy before a reload and it takes the LONGEST to kill out of all guns, just get the M14 if ur that concerned about high damage semiautos or even the sniper. And as for officers no other autos can beat the M4 because the other autos don't even kill faster by anything meaningful and either have way shittier range or shittier recoil. Be fr what does G36C offer that's better than M4.

Be fr who tf uses the melee weapons 🤣🤣

M249 doesnt need a nerf it's already bad

Why would people want M249 nerfed or say that M249 is good its literally not lmao. Bad range, doesnt kill any faster than the AK/M4, dogshit recoil, long reload time and cannit sprint. Only advantage is the copious amount of ammo that you probably wont even use up.

Before anyone starts talking about some "suppressive fire" it doesnt apply in erlc so unless u wanna be like the guy in the "LEO needs a buff" video who totally "suppressed" the criminals you shouldnt even be doing "suppression."

Bank robbery needs an actual buff

Like dawg ur telling me you get 3k at most in a solo robbery when the robbery is the undisputed hardest one in erlc 😭

- guards can legally kill you

- lasers either kill you or drain your stamina

- officers can enter the bank, and you cannot "gain distance" against them thanks to how stupidly packed the basement is

- alarm starts the moment you engage the robbery and delaying the alarm requires a lockpick

- the location is extremely predictable

- hazard gas forces you to evacuate very fast

- exits are predictable for camping

- getaway vehicles are usually shot out

And we get less cash than if we just robbed jewellery twice

PRC and their poorly made admin system

Have yall ever noticed how people in the PRC community defends PRC as if theyre some perfect system even though their mod system and mods are some of the worst? Like their policy of 'all false bans are reverted within 24 hours' is so obviously bs and is as credible as "my dad is builderman."

  1. Their appeal system is made to deter people from actually appealing since it has a 300 character limit for all points and already assumes you're guilty of whatever they think you did, along with the 60 day wait requirement and you do not get any form of feedback apart from "appeal denied." The unban gamepass is overpriced at 5000 Robux and the fact it exisrs suggests that PRC favors monetization over fair moderation. Oh and not to mention, attempting to appeal your ban via discord tickets almost always leads to nowhere because PRC mods will deny providing you evidence of your said offences leaving you no way of explaning yourself.

  2. Mods go through zero accountability and can (and has done) use their powers arbitrarily. https://youtu.be/XmN3bGU_RG4?si=7CILFJpYKtdRMoGq here for example (same mod has banned people in game for having conflicts with him in the discord server).

  3. Mods are either detached from the community or are straight up rude and condescending. Keyser for example has at many times openly disrespected people for asking about the summer update and people telling him to stfu gets banned for "disrespect." Most mods dont even have any significant interaction in the chat.

Rant | LEO needs to be tuned down

Hey folks, just made this reddit account to share my views on ERLC's balancing. I've read the posts here and people complaining about balancing frequently talks past each other or bring up points largely irrelevant to the balancing itself. This is my first time using Reddit, so don't expect any fancy formatting or whatsoever. This is going to be quite lengthy, so it might take around 2 or 3 minutes to read. I'm open to arguments and criticisms so long as they are logical.

Before I start, my arguments presented here assumes that everyone is equally as skilled.

Beanbag Shotgun

The beanbag shotgun is arguably the most unbalanced item in the game as it is the embodiment of "low risk, extreme reward." Featuring 8 slugs and a fast firerate, missing a shot is mostly a non issue while hitting a shot, even to the body, immediately ends the fight and guarantees the criminal gets jailed, which is far worse than death. For comparison, no other lethals can one hit to the body. On the contrary, the taser, despite its generous range (33 studs), forces an officer to be precise with their first shot or be put in a bad situation. The beanbag shotgun isnt really supposed to be fully accurate beyond taser range (around taser range it is mostly always accurate), so any arguments about it being inaccurate would be a non-starter.

Passive mode

An unarmed officer cannot be killed or damaged by players, allowing the officer to effectively start the fight on their own terms along with being able to get away with poor movement and positioning. There are no counter plays to this, and the only ways to survive this is to entirely bet that the officer will miss their shot. Staying in your vehicle is the only way to somewhat mitigate this, and even then you are still at the mercy of the chance that the officer will make a grave mistake on their first move. Not to mention, the ballistic shield does not trigger combat mode, allowing passive officers to repeatedly blind criminals with no way of removing the officers.

Gears

The only meaningful combat gear a criminal can obtain is the scanner and maybe the drone. Officers, on the other hand, receives:

  • SWAT vest that gives an officer an effective 25 more HP
  • Tracking helicopter that allows for 3 minutes of tracking
  • Ballistic shield that has no durability limit
  • Beanbag shotgun and taser that does not occupy weapon slots (and are as powerful if not more powerful than lethal guns)
  • Spike strips and stop sticks to coordinate vehicle stops
  • Drones too Adding on that the Benelli M4 easily pops tires due to its fast firerate and spread, and the M4 is simply a better ranged AK.

Teamwork

Officers are structurally designed to fight together and cannot fight each other or sabotage each other easily along with having shared objectives. Criminals on the other hand can fight each other and have no shared objective. A server of 24 officers would significantly be more likely to have the officers working together while the rest, even if we assume the unlikely that there are 26 criminals, might be shooting at each other.

Potential Counterarguments

"But, criminals have M249/PPSh":

  • The M249 genuinely does nothing better against the AK47 outside of ammo. It kills slower, has worse range, has way higher recoil, has no sprint ability and a long reload. Suppressive fire is not possible in ERLC due to the low consequences of death and the fast paced nature of the game. The PPSh is the only gun comparable to the M4, and even then the M4 has better range. Not that officers really need their guns.

"I have no issues with fighting officers, it is just you":

  • Being above or even well above average in ERLC is a rather low bar to clear, and anyone that is even Gold rank on Roblox Rivals can very easily beat the average ERLC player. However, the vast majority of officers being bad does not invalidate whatever I argued.

"Small avatars":

  • They are a Roblox issue, not an ERLC criminal exclusive one. Any players, be it officers or criminals, can easily use them and is akin to arguing that officers are OP due to auto arresting cheaters. Using it to justify OP mechanics would be flawed as an argument.

"Criminal vehicles are fast":

  • Yes, but it does NOT make them uncatchable. Criminals need a faster vehicle to evade officers as they're already outclassed in combat, not to mention pursuit kits are available for officers. Making their speeds equal would relinquish the only advantage criminals have, and the police corvette is not much slower than the rimac.

"This is ragebait/ur just salty":

  • If that's what ur gonna only comment, don't. (Watch people do this.)

Edit: for some reason, I cannot reply to people because of the new account restrictions. Anyone arguing about realism should realise that officers IRL are not even more powerful than civians due to the fact that their equipments are civilian grade, and anyone arguing that I've apparently never played as LEO should know that I have 40k XP on LEO.
