Suspension opinions needed

It’s me again. In a bit of a conundrum, I really need to get new shocks for my jeep, two are leaking and the bushings are disintegrating, but I want to get the lift down around 3” (currently at 4”). I don’t have the $$ for a full kit. The current setup is from the PO and it’s all rough country which I want to get off and make the ride better.

So the question is do I just wait until I can afford the whole kit or get shocks for now and deal with the shitty ride? Any input is appreciated

Looking to get into my next bike. I live in the PNW and love my dual sport, but I’ve been having trouble getting out. My buddies are not motivated to ride, but I still love it. I’ve owned a bunch of different bikes, but my favorite ones were my Honda VFR 800 and my Honda FT 500 ascot. The ascot was a little too small for freeway, but the VFR was too big for my short commute.

Was looking at the Kawasaki Z900RS, and also saw that they had the 650, and I liked the look of those bikes. Also test drove a Yamaha XSR900 and had a bunch of fun on that.

Any recommendations before I jump down the rabbit hole?
