[Marketing] How do you market yourself to get at least one commission?

Hi, first of all, I want to apologise if this is a commonly asked question. I’ve had this confusion for a while now because I’ve had friends who do well marketing themselves and when I ask, I get the same answer all the time, which is to post religiously and you’ll get a customer someday. I’ve tried that before, posting daily to get my art out there but after a while, I stopped because of burnout. I wasn’t getting any kind of attention on my art and I couldn’t get any commissions compared to my friends.

For context, I do 3D sculpts in Zbrush. A lot of my friends do 2D art and do pretty well for themselves as far as I’ve seen. I’ve tried to adapt what they have done for their art and themselves to get commissions but it doesn’t work for me. I am quite confused and burnt out because I’ve heard a decent chunk of advice and they’re all the same hashings of “put yourself out there, you’ll get clients eventually”.

I kinda just want advice on how to market better, even if it’s a little unhinged because I’ve been doing commissions on and off for other stuff, like adjusting vroid parameters in unity but so far, I’ve only sold two sculpting commissions in the span of 2-3 years.

EDIT: I've added my carrd to the social link in my bio. In hindsight, I should have done this earlier but I genuinely forgot.

I have an idea

I don’t think it’s that insane tbh but I wanted to see if it’s feasible to build a cyberdeck into a tamagotchi paradise. I had a long list of stuff to make from it but I’m more curious on if I can turn the docking port on top, that’s used to dock with another tamagotchi paradise, into a charging port so I can route the charging part to the top for cable charging instead of swapping out a battery. I hope it’s easy to understand somehow QAQ

I’m so lost

Hihi! Please remove this if it doesn’t comply with the rules but I have been trying my hardest to better my life. Nothing seems to be working and I’m convinced I’m somehow working against my chart instead of with it without knowing. For some context, I recently have a quarter life crisis that sent me into a really bad depressive state. It has been that way my whole life in a sense where I get really frequent depressive states regardless of what I do to fix it. I was just wondering if quarter life crises are just normal for someone with a Capricorn rising.

Does Zbrush have something like this?

I saw this video on Twitter and was very curious if there is something similar to this. Basically, what’s happening in the video is that someone is stencilling something onto a model by drawing over it. They have a series of stencils and they do like a pass of it and it appears on the model. I know MatchMaker does the same thing but with solid objects but is there something like this for textures in Zbrush?

27F - Need new friends to talk to

Hihi! For some context, I’m a 27F digital sculptor and 3D artist with really bad insomnia and a dash of agoraphobia, hence why I don’t have irl friends. That doesn’t matter, I’m gonna make friends online! Hopefully. I like everything to do with horror but I flinch easily, essentially I like watching horror so I can feel scared somehow considering I clock out a lot mentally due to stuff. I read occasionally if I’m not sculpting. Also to do with horror. I’m still trying to go through Tales From The Gas Station vol 1.

I struggle a lot with introversion because of my past experiences of being ignored and talked over a lot. I have been getting better at talking to people though it comes with a lot of stress. I tend to self isolate a lot too and work on stuff myself instead of talking to people and asking for help because it is honestly a lot of work to manage people’s expectations filter myself. Hopefully this doesn’t scare people off.

I hope we can be friends!

P.S, please give me something to work with when you send me a text or comment. I tried this before and I couldn’t even text most of them because there’s nothing to work with and I am really bad at starting conversation with nothing to work with

What is the best way to sculpt human anatomy?

As the title says, I have been sculpting for 3 years and counting, but I have no idea how to sculpt human anatomy. I did learn to sculpt figurine proportions for a bit, but I do want to learn how to make figurines that are one-to-one with how a character looks, if that makes sense. I have tried to look for resources for this, but I have not been able to find anything that is easy to understand. Does anyone have any ideas or resources on how to better learn how to sculpt anatomy?

27F need new online friends to hang out with!

Hi, hi! Like the title says, I'm here to look for friends! I'm a digital sculptor and 3D modeller who is looking for a friend and an accountability buddy while I sculpt. I typically like befriending someone here first before going to discord if you don’t mind. I have really bad insomnia so I would be seen up at random hours of the day. I mostly operate on GMT+8 timezone but I wanna have friends in all kinds of timezones, especially in the Europe side of things. It’s not limited to that side of the world tho if you do end up responding to this post, please let me know what time zone you’re in! :D it’s okay if you don’t want to either
