Best transmission jacks to get?
Hey y’all, want to know some recommended transmission jacks from people who actually work on things
I got a 1994 Ranger with the 2.3 and a 5-speed, the clutch is relatively new according to the old owner, less than 20k miles on it, but the clutch is acting up, it seems like it’s either the master or slave cylinder but according to the guy the master cylinder is brand new with about 5k miles on it. I don’t wanna even wanna bother with figuring it out and plan on just buying a brand new prefilled master/slave cylinder assembly with a new throw out bearing but to change out the slave, I need to drop the trans and all I got is a regular 2.5 ton floor jack.
So what’s some recommendations for transmission jacks yall got? Ideally something that’s not insanely expensive but can comfortably support the weight of a transmission and reducing the risk of dropping it.
Side note, does anyone with a similar truck have any insight as to what I might run into when I drop it? I’ve changed headgaskets on a ‘94 Mustang so Im confident I can do this no problem but I’ve never pulled a transmission and done a clutch job before so any advice is appreciated
