Built around the Fortuna Lobby hab and Fortuna Main habs, I present, the Shadow Dreadnaught. Inspired by u/__Player1's P1 Dreadnaught, I was struggling to find a way to not make this thing look like a giant box because the Fortuna habs are such a giant box. This thing takes up soooo much landing space, and is really glitchy around some landing areas (I get stuck at Red Mile and cant exit the ship) So I try to imagine its a cruise ship/heavy freighter that jumps between starstations. It also consists of lots of 3x3 cargo halls, 2x3 mess halls, and more on the upper layer. The fortuna habs dont count for "landing bay needs to be connected to the cockpit!" Error, so you have to make a whole top layer of habs to account for this.

I also took advantage of some merged ship building like on the fuel tanks at the end.

Other than that I love this ship. Darkstar engine mods have helped make it agile despite the massive size, even more than my last ship, the Shadow Scimitar.

I know this looks ridiculous and its a spaghetti mess, but does anyone else plan their outpost factories like this? Everything arrives at my home base with a whole mess of cargo freighters arriving every 20 seconds or so at my home outpost.

I started out with a plan of 5 "hubs", each one in different system. Like the Cheyenne system bringing in all those resources to the "Au/Cu" base, which then places it all on 1 ship to go to my home base. I would do that 5 separate times, and the small hubs would serve as a manufacturing plant for simple fabrication ideally.

Then I realized that I would run out of outpost space (24 max) unless theres a mod for that (haven't checked but I feel I should!) So then I decided to just go for the Unique resources for big money. Thats what I am currently working on.

Everything but the last few outposts (last 3 unique resources, with a ☆)are done, and all that cargo goes into my big storage facility at my home base. I got a better storage mod for the cargo transfer unit so it can house a massive amount of resources. I did this just so I can lay the groundwork of this system, so nothing clogs and causes me trouble, since this project has taken the better part of a day, as well as sleeping on Venus to get UC Distribution to restock Tungsten and other resources (which I've used SOOOO much of) which makes the resources really stack up fast (oh no, my lobster is too buttery, my steak too juicy, Yada yada yada)

At this point I feel like I dont need to buy resources anymore which is great, and also the goal. Hopefully in the future I can turn this trial run into all of the super intricate fabricators. But at this point it might be faster to go through the unity rather than taking all the time to delete all those outposts and start again lol.

Wanting to hear your thoughts abd suggestions on fabrication routes that work best for you as well! I want to try and keep the Cheyenne system plan going because its very efficient. The ultimate goal is to only have 5 inter-system cargo links at home, and 1 at each system "hub". It certainly will be a challenge!
