Imo Dango

Imo Dango

Little chewy potato dumplings in a sticky sweet-and-savory sauce. Love child of Mitarashi Dango and Thüringer Klöße (Thuringian dumplings, chewy German potato dumplings that are usually served with a nice and saucy pork or beef roast etc.). Nice and filling. Also, let Spheal stare into your soul.

Curryworschd (Curry sausage)

Today accompanied by Spheal's German cousin Seemops. Their résumé: "It's edible. Could use a bratwurst next time, tho, and some fruit pulp for the sauce. Other than that, not bad."

For those not knowing: Currywurst (curry sausage) is a German streetfood staple. It's basically a sausage, e.g. bratwurst or Bockwurst, in a tomato-based sauce with spices (curry, chili, but others as well), something sweet, and something sour. If done well, it's really tasty. This was rather mid. :3

Butter Chicken and Garlic Cheese Naan (feat. Spheal)

No better time than the weekend to cook something a bit more time-consuming. Marinated the chicken in the afternoon and prepared the dough, so the rest is done within half an hour or so when it's actual cooking time.

Back at smashing them burgers

As roommate demanded (no, she actually helped a lot with these). Store-bought buns today, but everything else fried, sliced and assembled with love.

Falafel :3

Dough wouldn't stick together, but I managed to shape them with sheer dedication (and some flour) – they just had to be made a little bit more flat. Also made an easy tahini yogurt dip. ^_^

ラーメン

Quite the unorthodox approach but tasty nonetheless. Cooked dashi from konbu and katsuobushi, added chicken stock, soy sauce and some fried garlic. Topped with crispy pork mince, buttered corn, spring onion from the garden and a soft egg. Spheal looked quite jealously at this...

Blueberry Pancakes

Depression hits like a truck, but as long as there is still tasty food on the table, things can hardly be so bad, huh?

I made some blueberry jam/sauce to layer on the pancakes. A pinch of cinnamon and a dash of lime juice go a long way here.

I hate this dish so bad

...but it tastes so good. Queen of Madness here thinks everything "this time making the mayo in the blender will turn out great!" And then it doesn't, and I have to make it all over again. Twice. Anyway, chicken caesar salad tastes great. ^_^

Also, trying this type of Monster for the first time. What was it called again? Les...Lesbiblood? Is that correct?

I haven't slept properly in two weeks ^_^

Today I slept from 7 to 10 am, yay. Can't even go to work like this. I only eat real dinners every other day. Energy is lacking so hard but I can't get myself to sleep.

Vegan Lentil Bolognese, second attempt

Yeah, simmering this for an extra hour really helps. It's really just like with an ordinary meat bolo. Turned out good, saucy and savory.

Had some curry simmering over night

I'd say it was worth it. Smooth, flavorful, hearty comfort food. Perfect after grinding for gear in MMOs for 8 hours nonstop. I wish I'd be that motivated in my daytime job. .-.

Austrian Meatballs

It's 90 °F outside. Perfect time to stand in the kitchen for an hour and deep-fry some meatballs as my mum used to make them. They taste like home. Also, freshly made mashed potatoes with some crispy onions on top.

Vegan Curry

Tomato- and coconut-based sauce, grilled sweet potato cubes, chickpeas and some spinach. Came out quite well. It's been a long time since I made the spice mixture myself instead of using Japanese curry roux, so this is quite special to me!

Angry food

Feeling drained, tired and overall angry today. Frankly, I'm surprised I didn't smash anything into pieces while I was cooking. Stirfry with beef, bell peppers, snow peas, shrooms over noodles. Added an egg yolk as it was left from marinating the meat.
