Here’s a weird one: vision loss then the headache went away!

First off, we’re working with a neurologist (and ophthalmologist) on this, so please don’t worry! But my son has the craziest vision symptoms with his migraines. It’s not just aura, it will last for hours. Often it’s double vision, even Alice in Wonderland syndrome once. But today takes the cake.

He’s in a three week migraine cycle where the headaches and other symptoms come every day, dial back, then hit again the next day. Today has been a higher pain day. Then out of nowhere his vision went totally black for a minute, then he realized his headache was gone! It’s like a reverse aura. I don’t know if this is a thing or not, his migraines are definitely not typical. But I thought that was pretty wild!

Probably the headache will be back, because nothing has stopped it yet. But for now he’ll enjoy some time pain free in exchange for a second of his vision!

A little win! Finally identified an actual trigger.

Just wanted to share a little win. My MCAS is mild but part of a whole jumble of things (dysautonomia, migraines, EDS etc) that are constantly taking me out. I can never figure out what’s put me in a flare and had pretty much given up. But I had this little inkling that nuts might be an issue, so I was avoiding them. Then I ate a yogurt with peanut bits, and bam clear symptoms. People, I had been eating protein bars with peanuts like 3-4 days a week 🫠 So hopeful that this will help. And I hope others are finding some useful relief as well!!
