I need advice about a PlayStation account situation and whether anything can be done.
The account I use on PlayStation Network is under my dad’s name. He passed away a few years ago, but I’ve continued using the account since then.
With new age verification rules being introduced for communication features (voice chat, messaging, etc.), I’m worried the account will eventually get restricted because I obviously can’t verify it under his details anymore.
What I want to know is:
- Is it possible to transfer the account into my name?
- Or change the account details so it matches my age and identity?
- If not, what usually happens in situations like this?
- Would PlayStation support ever make an exception for something like this?
I’d prefer to keep the account because of games and progress on it, but I don’t want to lose access to key features or end up stuck later on.
Any advice from people who’ve dealt with similar situations would help.
