Worst sales experience as a buyer?

Sharing for a bit of light relief after a tough quarter and keen to hear other’s stories.

I’m a SaaS AE and have been for 12 years.

I also enjoy buying things and coming across other sales people in different industries. For example, I listened to a pitch from a door to door solar panels guy. Old school type, always looking to close me, lots of eye contact etc. I was never going to buy but I heard him out for 15 minutes.

Worst experience: Went into a car showroom over the weekend and was genuinely appalled by how bad the sales guy was. No approach with a handshake, lack of eye contact, little discovery, didn’t try to build any rapport and worst of all, I walked out without him taking any details despite me stating 3 times I was keen on a certain vehicle.

Best experience: Booking a Disney trip with a travel operator. My god she tapped into my fomo, understood my wife and kids were the influencer and zero’d in but kept me in the loop as the budget holder etc. and was just a genuinely nice buying experience.

Leads me to ask… what’s your best or worst buying experience?

New to EV. Leapmotor C10 or BYD?

Hi all. Feedback please…

Currently getting rid of my owned Jeep Diesel. 100% sold on going Electric but not yet sold on which one…

I own my current vehicle outright but given there’s still some uncertainty my side around electric, I want to go PCP this time rather than purchase. Potential purchase at the end.

I’ve looked at both the Leap C10 / B10 and BYD Atto 2. Both seem sizeable enough for my needs (2 kids and boot space is needed) and both compare very similarly on mileage range, tech, cost, reviews etc.

Drive on average 8k miles a year so I’m rationalising that around £75-£100 a month will be saved on fuel which contributes towards the PCP cost.

Both also come in at around £300 per month as I plan on selling or PX the Jeep for around £8,000 and use £2/2.5k of that as a deposit. Invest the rest in my ISA.

Leaning towards a 4 year PCP deal so everything is included in the term if something goes wrong.

I’ve read on these groups that the Leap can be overly sensitive to driver warnings and that there isn’t a central function to amend that, and the guy in showroom didn’t give me a clear enough answer to alleviate concerns. I’m also conscious of the fact they are new brands in the market so yet to be fully tested over a longer term etc. I also require a tow bar to be fitted and the showroom guy had never been asked that before. Anybody done that?

Any real world experience of either vehicle or am I missing another option?

Appreciate all comments and insight!
