Appears on Luna on release day (to stream)?! Did anyone see that coming?

OpenReach still aren't ready with FTTP on my street. They've been saying "in the next year" for the past 18+ months, back in October 2025 they told me September 2026.

So I have the faster FTTC offering and still have a landline, and I've had the stuff through from PN about either getting moved to EE (and losing my static IP!) or staying with PN and just losing the phone. I don't mind losing the phone - however all the options that are presented to me are for the slower FTTC offering, why are they trying to force a downgrade onto me?

I've called up PN and eventually got through to someone who confirmed they still can't supply full fibre - told me that might be by end of January 2027, but didn't seem very sure. They weren't able to explain why I'm not being offered the same speed that I'm on now, but confirmed that that's all that they're able to offer.

Just gone through as a new customer to PN and then, to add insult to injury, I *do* get offered the faster FTTC. What the hell? Has anyone else had similar from PN?

I'm using a couple of staples at the moment and can remove the pins that only have one cable attached to them, but am struggling with all those that have two cables to one pin. Are the retention barbs placed differently on those?

I just want to take the 14 pin -> 24 pin ATX power cable down to 3 wires GND, 5vSB & PSON for an ESP32 as a power controller. Any pointers welcome!

Are there any downsides in setting GTT size too high?

I've been trying to get Jedi: Survivor running on my BC250 and haven't been very impressed by the results! I've got 40CU enabled, and the UMR-based governor in place but have had problems getting it working (I net-boot my BC250 and it seems the EA app can detect network filesystems and throw a hissy fit! -- eventually worked around that), but I also found that with no swap enabled I couldn't get it to work at all.

Minimum requirements are 8GB RAM + 8GB VRAM but I noted that (according to amdgpu_top) the game was using considerably more than 8GB VRAM+GTT before it would fall victim to the OOM-killer. This was @ 1080p with everything on 'LOW' and FSR 'Performance'.

With swap enabled (no local storage on the BC250 - so swap on NBD @ 2.5 Gbit) the game worked but really really struggled in some areas of the game.

At present I've got a 512MB VRAM split with GTT set to allow up to 14.75 GIB (with gttsize, ttm.pages_limit and ttm.page_pool_size parameters). I wondering whether turning this down so that there's an ~8GB VRAM limit might make things better?

No zram/zswap or overclocking, and this is on Ubuntu 26.04. Push/pull fan was keeping below ~70C too.

Anyone else had better luck with this game? (I know it doesn't have a particular good reputation.... but this was running a lot than would be acceptable on the PS5, for instance).

I'm interested in replacing the PXE portion with iPXE to enable me to network boot from a (faster) USB -> Ethernet adapter rather than the onboard NIC. Any pointers welcome!

After installing poles many many months ago, City Fibre have apparently now completed their install on my street - in so much as neighbours either side of me can now place orders. My house, used to be a farmhouse until I bought it 15 years ago, when it was split from a field and barn and renamed from 'Farm' to 'House' (just names, no numbers on my street). I believe I've done everything correct and Council UPRN records etc are all correct for my property.

But CityFibre don't believe I exist, and whilst they do have the 'Farm' property listed it's availability status has gone from "Coming soon" to "There's been a problem". Interestingly IDNET's checker lists the Farm with *my* UPRN, but none of the other checkers appear to mention UPRN.

I've got the same problem with OpenReach (which I suspect was the initial source of CF's database) - they installed to 'Farm' decades ago to still supply copper to the property (now 'House') which Plusnet bill to 'House' but were unable to figure out how to get OR to update their data. Same story from OR engineers when they come to fix faults over the last decade who are confused by the address when they arrive, but can't get the data fixed! OR still haven't installed full fibre in the area, so I've just got what was already here.

There doesn't appear to be any way to contact CF, as a consumer, so can anyone recommend ISPs who might be able to do so on my behalf?
