I still find it so cool that Adrienne Hill was in the 1985 Children in Need special :)
I’ve honestly always really loved Katarina as a character and I can’t even put my finger on exactly why. needless to say, I was ELATED when more episodes featuring her were recovered very recently :)
it’s a shame she got written out of the show so quickly! from what i’ve come to understand, the writing team at the time didn’t want a companion from a time so far in the distant past that she didn’t even know what the concept of a key/lock was, (she has an actual line somewhere in The Daleks’ Master Plan where she is confused by the word “key”) and she stands out as the first ever companion death in the entire show, but idk, I feel like she could’ve lasted longer. They managed to pull off the kind of companion she would have been later with Leela in the 70s anyway, so it wasn’t impossible to write a character like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk…
anyway, I was just rewatching the 1985 Children in Need special and it always delights me to see her there even if she doesn’t say anything, i’m glad she was there and she didn’t feel out of place to me standing next to the other more recognizable faces :)
