You can easily earn karma naturally in r/redditstreak just by sharing your own streak progress and achievements, or by leaving encouraging comments on other members' posts. v1.2.1 - This is the one you've all been waiting for! Vacation Mode Is Now Live!

After a lot of testing, polishing, and answering questions from the teaser post, Vacation Mode is officially ready for everyone to use. This update has been one of the most requested and most carefully built features so far, and I’m excited to finally get it into your hands.

• Vacation Mode - Automatically protects your global Reddit streak while you’re away
• Dedicated Vacation Mode thread for all automated comments
• Per‑day approval system for full user control
• Improvements to timezone handling

🌴 What Vacation Mode Does

When you enable Vacation Mode, the app will leave one small daily comment on your behalf. That single action is enough to keep your global Reddit streak safe while you’re away.

🔧 How It Works

Everything runs through Reddit’s official Devvit platform. No passwords, no external logins, no sharing credentials.

You choose your vacation dates, and then approve each of those days in the app. For every approved day, the app will leave one small automated comment inside the dedicated Vacation Mode thread here in the subreddit. Each comment looks like this:

That’s all it needs to keep your streak protected while you’re offline.

⏱️ Limits

• Up to 31 days per activation

• Designed as a safety net, not a replacement for normal streak activity

💡 Why It Exists

This feature was inspired by the countless “Death of a Streak” and “Advice Needed” posts. People were losing 300+, 600+, 700+ day streaks because of travel, blackouts, cruises, camping trips, or days where getting online simply wasn’t possible.
Nobody should lose years of progress over something outside their control.

⚠️ A Quick Note

This is a safety net, not a cheat code. If you can maintain your streak yourself, you should. Vacation Mode is there for the days when you genuinely can’t.

📋 How to Enable It

1. Make sure your streak is submitted in the app.
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Vacation Mode (calendar + shield + flame icon next to your profile picture)
4. Pick your dates
5. Approve each day
6. Enjoy your trip - your streak is safe

🕒 Before You Activate It

If you joined the tracker before April 22nd, please double‑check your timezone in the app:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap Set Timezone
3. Tap Auto Detect
4. Confirm the timezone shown is correct

If Auto Detect changes your timezone, it means the system found a more accurate match.
Using the correct timezone ensures Vacation Mode posts at the right time for you.
