I got my hair dyed but the purple is more pink toned than I was hoping. There’s also some blonder/warmer-yellowish bits of hair that the purple didn’t latch onto as well. This was done with pulp riot dye. What’s the best strategy to get the cool toned, pastel lavender in the pic?

Should I put a blue dye over this (as my stylist suggested)? I’m afraid if I do this, the color will be too dark and not at all pastel. I’m also afraid the blue will latch onto those strands that weren’t dyed as well and I’ll have blue streaks amongst the purple :(.

Alternatively, should I fade this out and try again with a lavender dye? Should I bleach again? I’m freaking out because I was hoping to have my hair lavender for a big event in two and a half weeks :(. Is that enough time to fade this?

so I’m dyeing my hair purple and want to maintain the color as long as possible. I know the standard advice is to use sulfate-free shampoo, but every sulfate free shampoo that I have used has left my hair very greasy. I have very oily hair (couldn’t live without dry shampoo).

is there anyone here that has similarly oily hair that is colored? what shampoo do you use to maintain the color while also actually cleansing it!?
