Firstly, I know the reputation of English Ivy. I like it and keep it well maintained. I keep it back from the trees and my house. I don’t want to kill it.

I’ve spent years cultivating an Ivy/fern/hosta/sedum ground cover. This spring hundreds of thousands (millions?) of oriental bittersweet seeding have appeared. Mostly around the trees and bushes, so I suspect the birds did a number over the winter. There was actually a day in February when my holly tree was infested with birds eating the berries and crapping all over the place… I think this was the event.

Is my ground cover toast? Any one have any experience?

Anyone know why this song isn’t on streaming? Was always one of my favorites. I know I have it somewhere. I’ll dig and get back.
