Fresh air blower fan

Looking to add an electric blower unit to the front area here so I can have some airflow with the windows rolled up note Im not using the standard heat exchangers rather just wanted to have forced air to blow on the windshield/ into the cabin. Do I just add a junction to one of the hoses or what would you suggest?

Clutch issues

I just replaced the clutch in my 1972 beetle it was a sachs and I also replaced the throw out bearing I installed the springs that snap over the clutch fork after reassembling the engine in the car and installing a new clutch cable adjusting it all the way. Still do not have clutch disengagement I suspect that the clutch bearing has come off its mounting clips and rotated so that the clutch fork is no longer moving. It is this something that happens? I don't want to have to pull the entire engine. It's looking like it. It was also suggested that safety wire would be a good safety measure to keep this from happening.

12 volt socket location

I'm looking into putting a 12-volt socket in my 1972 beetle. I don't like the idea of hanging anything off the bottom of the dashboard. Are there any good locations in the dash itself?

Throttle cable and clutch cable service port

This might make people upset that I cut into the center channel but I prefer to be able to service the clutch and throttle cable without needing to pull the pedals off. I used many curse words taking that pedal assembly on and off and I want to be able to do this. If something breaks on the road I can easily fix and be on my way.

Can't believe i got them free.

What an awesome deal I wasn't expecting to upgrade my suspension but this will do nicely does anybody run these? If so how much of a difference does it make?

Okay, now I've fixed the valve guide

So after hearing everybody's comments, solder is not a good choice. So cutting down the guide and putting a press fit sleeve on the outside is what we did. It was a pretty tight fit so it's not going anywhere.

Fixed the valve guide that was lose!

So basically I figured that I could solder to add thickness.

I realize that lead melts at higher temperature but There's no way the intake valve is going to get that hot so I ended up just soldering it and running it through the lathe to get it all uniform then pressed it back in.

I also added a snap ring to the top so it doesn't push back in.

Valve guide moved inward.

Should I remove the heads and replace them or are they okay to just be pressed back in place?

Removing these exhaust studs has been a hassle. Only got two out. I've been soaking them in oil and PB blaster while turning the stud, I've been putting the heat directly on the flange. Any advice?

And yeah I've had them break doing the removal and did the welding and nut on the end method of removing them when that happens.

Cylinder head temp gauge options.

On my 1972 1600cc I've been trying to figure out how to get a gauge that will give me both cylinder head temperatures on one analog gauge or just a gauge with enough wire to reach the engine what do most people run in these?

I've found a few aircraft gauges that would work but don't know how to wire up sensors.

4x4 HF trailer is perfect for this car

As I don't have a truck this little trailer moves all that I need including lumber and it's small/light enough not to use up much range and with one pedal driving it is easy to stop definitely something I'd recommend to people as a good option for truck like activities.

Crank End play and removing the heads.

I'm just recently learning about crank end play and how there is a shim stack up behind the flywheel. I tested my engine and I do have a small clunk I was thinking about just ordering a set of shim's and I already have a new crank seal just to put more shims in and put the new seal in and retorque. Is there anything I should consider while doing this procedure? I was also considering pulling the heads and reseating and adjusting the valves as far as I understand, I only need head bolts to do that job? 1972 1600cc engine with 90,000mi
