Do you think right-wing / nationalist virtue-signalling is a thing?

The guy at the petrol station yesterday shouting at Rachel Reeves got me thinking - is right-wing virtue-signalling a thing? Of all the causes he could have supported to help British people when close to the Chancellor, he chose to bang on about getting arrested for having a flag on his car - which (do correct me if I'm wrong) ZERO people have actually been arrested for. Is he just trying to look cool for the cameras??

And I have seen criticisms of the people putting up flags for not spending their time picking up litter, helping their community, etc, so it does feel like this is becoming a trend...? What do y'all think?

A typical pensioner was promised the Triple Lock for only 8 out of ~47 years they worked. Is this enough to make the Triple Lock untouchable?

Example is based on a 72 year old (approximately the average age of people receiving the state pension), who retired in 2019 having worked from the early 1970s and was promised the Triple Lock from 2011.

The Triple Lock is adding around £15 billion a year to the welfare bill, and there is increasing concern it is unaffordable. When i hear from pensioners, many feel they should just get what they were promised - but how do you work out what was promised in a fair way when the rules got changed quite a lot over time (arguably because of politically motivated decisions, not what was affordable for the country)?

(For the record and to avoid misunderstanding, I don't think anyone serious is saying to get rid of the state pension itself - just the triple lock.)

Welsh drivers: can you tell me what has happened to your car insurance premiums in the past couple of years? Insurers say 20mph limits help lower prices...

As the question says, I've heard from insurers who say areas with 20mph limits benefit from lower insurance premiums, due to fewer collisions and less damage when collisions do occur. So just wanted to understand what has happened to people's premiums? I know prices did spike 2 or 3 years ago, which was to do with general inflation, supply chain issues and the cost of repairs, but wondered what's happened more recently...

Given we've all heard about Starmer's troubles, Farage is a Liz Truss super fan, and Badenoch seems a bit odd - should we just take a punt on Michael Carrick? Since taking over at United, they've accumulated more points than anyone else in the league, so it seems a no brainer? Right??
