Hair Mist & Fragrance Kissed
Went for a small stroll in Larchmont, CA, and of course ended up in various fragrance shops. I can't really envision myself passing a Diptyque without at least popping in and doing a lap. While a big fan of the candles and household items (rooms sprays, diffusers, candle holders) I've never found one of their perfumes to have staying power on me. Because of my appreciation for their beautiful fragrances, I was incredibly excited to discover they had hair mists! How had I missed this you asked? Not a lot of local boutiques have had them in stock or on display. Believe me, I'm a woman that loves a hair mist, I would have clocked it lol.
I went in with the plan to get Do Son OR L'Eau Papier. Me being me, I left with both. The store is soft and bright, with a sage and ivory seating area to rest if you've been shopping all day. The staff is absolutely lovely, and a shout out to Ben for searching for the last one of each of these hair mists for me!
This week I tried both and my basic perceptions of how they smelled on my hair is as follows.:
L'Eau Papier: Warm sunlight shining on the pages of an open book. Studying, but not the tedious kind. The absorption into the type of knowledge that excites. Tea stains, a breeze, comfort. This will be an excellent choice for situations where a very natural soft scent will be best. I could see spritzing the locks the morning before a flight or when I know I'll be in closer quarters.
Do Son: This was a cool spring day slowly meandering through my local botanical gardens. For some reason, it feels like an almost deserted day. Just you and the breeze.
Lasting power on these is moderate, but as we know it depends on hair ph. It's just a light kiss of a scent as a finisher, which just feels like a little cherry on top, as I walk out the door. (Used my friend's house to snap a pick of the bottles). ☺️
