How long do Diptyque perfumes usually last?

I'm thinking about buying a Diptyque perfume, but longevity is really important to me.

How long do Diptyque fragrances usually last on your skin and clothes? Which ones have the best projection and last the longest?

I'd love to hear your experiences!

Fake or authentic?

Hi! I recently bought Leau Papier. In the box it says, volume 79%, but upon checking the bottle sticker, it says 80%. Upon checking my other bottle which is Fleur De Peau, the box and bottle sticker both matches with vol 77%.

On top of that, my LP’s bottle cap is shiny and not matte compared to my Fleur De Peau.

I’m thinking of getting a refund. What do you think guys? Please enlighten me. Thanks!

Kimonanthe – My Thoughts on One of Diptyque's Forgotten Fragrances

I absolutely adore Diptyque. From the brand's identity and exceptional customer service to the perfumes themselves, everything feels thoughtfully crafted.

I own full bottles of the vintage, cracked-glass presentation of Benjoin Bohème and Philosykos EDP, along with a large decant of Orphéon EDP that I'll be upgrading when it runs out. I also find Tempo, Tam Dao, Eau Duelle, Eau Capitale and Oud Palao particularly beautiful, and appreciate many more.

Considering the discontinued Kimonanthe originally came from the same collection as my beloved Benjoin Bohème, I couldn't resist picking up a sample when I spotted one online, and blimey, what an extraordinary perfume this is.

Many people compare it to cherry cough syrup, but I'm particularly sensitive to cherry in perfume, and I don't get that here. Instead, it's sweet and camphoric like an aged balsamic remedy, with a thick, sticky fruitiness that leans more towards the nectarous nature of peach and apricot than cherry. This is certainly coming from the generous helping of osmanthus. The whole fragrance feels like a shade of dark orange, with a rich, viscous texture, as though sun-ripened stone fruits have been slowly reduced into a dense elixir.

It never feels too sweet though - the Japanese incense quickly restores the balance. This doesn't smell cold and austere like ecclesiastical frankincense (LAVS, Cardinal, Eau Sacrée), nor green and foresty like smoky cypress (Kyoto, Hwyl, Hinoki One), but rather resinous and timeworn, like a piece of ancient wood that's been scrubbed clean, lacquered, and left to absorb decades of warm spices and leathery resins.

I notice some vague similarities to Diptyque's 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain in the warm, woody, subtely floral character, but here the constant presense of osmanthus colours the fragrance in an entirely unique light. The two halves are blended exquisitely, and it's only in the opening that the thick, apricot-flavoured syrup briefly overshadows the deeper, more contemplative incense.

If you've made it this far, you must be as passionate about reading olfactive monologues as I am about writing them! As is probably clear, I'm incredibly impressed with Kimonanthe and can see why it once belonged to the same collection as Benjoin Bohème. They smell nothing alike, yet they overlap in atmosphere, feeling, and emotion, both evoking something mystical and timeless.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one - whether you've tried it, whether it sounds like something you'd enjoy, and whether these words have inspired you to hunt down a sample. Do feel free to share your favourite Diptyque fragrances too - I always enjoy reading what others have fallen in love with 😊

Fleur de peau EDT or EDP as a signature?

Hi everyone!

I came here in the last week to ask for opinions for a Eau rose EDT vs Fleur de peau EDT dilemma, and ended up picking Fleur de peau, as it is more complex and felt more "me".

However, I am back with another dilemma and an even harder one!! I don't know if I prefer Fleur de peau EDT or EDP after all. I had never smelled the EDP before deciding, and I decided to give it a try right as I was about to go purchase the edt. The store clerk gave me a sample and I am really loving it, it seems even more special than the EDT, almost less "perfume-y", but I love the freshness of the EDT as well so I really am torn. This is for my husband and I anniversary so I really want it to be special (we are picking a scent each, my husband went with Philosykos EDT).

Anyways, my goal is really for it to be my daily driver everyday scent, a signature scent if you will. If you had to choose between those two, which one would you pick? I'm curious as how those two scents are perceived.

Thanks for your help!!

Thoughts on this ad?

This ad popped up on my social media and I had a very strong reaction to it. Without influencing opinion, curious to hear other people's take

Fleur de Peau: Can I use the hair mist as a lighter version of the EDP?

I absolutely love Fleur de Peau EDP, but it’s just a bit too sharp and long-lasting. I've also tried the EDT and didn't really care for it (crayons, dust, and soap).

Has anyone used the hair mist as a lighter, more dialed-down version of the EDP? Not just in hair, but on skin and clothes too?

Diptyque secret sale

I got an alert from Diptyque about a secret sale that went to my US associated account while the sale is for European people Lol

I saw Christmas, perfumes, and recently discontinued candles along with kitchen and candles accessories such as plates. I didn’t know Diptyque is in the kitchen business. Thought I don’t know how Diptyque can possibly ship candles in high heats blasting Europe!

For those whose archive sales didn’t work

The link i got sent works for me but sent me to the french website. From what i’ve seen the archive is lowkey disappointing. Mostly candles, only Ilio edt limited edition and hair mist from the fragrance collection.

Orpheon EDP smells wildly different from sample

So I bought a sample of orpheon EDP from scent split about two weeks ago and fell in love with everything about the fragrance so I decided to buy a full bottle of it from the same website. I just got it this morning and it smells completely different than the sample. The opening is harsh and off putting with only the dry down being (vaguely) reminiscent of the sample I got... Overall, the full bottle just smells significantly weaker than the sample. Is this normal or was I basically just scammed? I think it's worth noting that the packaging and bottle and even the color of the liquid looks exactly like all of the images I could find online of the fragrance so I'm not quite sure if what I bought was a fake or not.

Could someone please show me the bottom of their Orpheon bottle?

I've been eyeing a bottle I found on Vinted.

I only own a sample size so I would need some picture to compare. Shouldn't the "made in france" be capitalized for example? Couldn't check the batch code, but somebody said, it can happen even with legit bottles?

help me choose a first fragrance!

first post kinda nervous lolz

so ive been thinking about buying a fragrance for my birthday, ive never really had a real "perfume" before so i wanna make a good choice for this first one. i was first intrigued by philosykos because i smelled it on a lady and asked what it was, to which i decided to go into the store and look at a few other fragrances.

from looking at the website, i also wanted to try tam dao, but once i actually had a whiff and let it dry down on my wrist, i really really liked the scent. im thinking of leaning towards that one (which, if anyone can also help me decide between the edt and the edp, is it that big of a difference?). im someone who thinks i would like woody scents and ones that evoke a mysterious and intimate scent, not extremely fresh.

ive also been looking through this page and many people like orpheon and fleur de peau. (if anyone has any opinions on these fragrances....) ill try these in store before deciding, but does anyone also have any other recommendations?

summary: what do u think of tam dao as a signature scent and what other perfumes do u like from diptyque?

Private July sale

Ciao a tutti!

Fine

My first online order - no samples 💔

Bought a discovery set for my mom for her birthday and was really excited for the opportunity to try out some scents from the free samples. I chose Orpheon and Eau de Sens before checking out. I got the package today and they didn’t give me any samples :( I’m so sadd.. has this happened to anyone else?

L'eau Papier

I smelt this perfume at the Narita Airport in Japan and could not stop thinking about it. Of course I had to buy Philosykos EDP as it was sooo beautiful. I think these two will start my obsession.

What do y'all think about L'eau Papier. What vibes do you get. Does it last long? Remember I only smelt it once in an airport never owned her. She should be here Thursday 📖 🖊
