I actually like it, but I can’t un-smell that clean, fresh, almost baby-cologne vibe. I’m usually not a huge fan of citrusy scents, except for a few, so this isn’t normally the kind of fragrance I would go for. But somehow it feels really nostalgic 🥹 When I was little in the Dominican Republic, I used to go to church and I basically never left the house without my cologne on. I’ve been living in Italy for 24 years now, so it’s kind of nice that one scent can suddenly bring back those little memories ✨ Has a perfume ever taken you straight back to childhood?

Does Jo Malone Red Hibiscus remind anyone else of Christmas and winter?

I don’t even know exactly why, but every time I smell Red Hibiscus I immediately think about the colder months coming.
It reminds me of autumn turning into winter, cold air, snow, Christmas lights and that whole feeling of knowing Christmas is getting closer. Maybe it’s just a personal association, because I wouldn’t necessarily describe the fragrance itself as a typical “Christmas perfume”, but that’s exactly where my mind goes.
And I love it because autumn and winter are genuinely my two favourite seasons of the year, so wearing this almost gives me that little feeling of excitement that they’re coming back. 😂
Does anyone else associate Red Hibiscus with autumn/winter, or does it give you a completely different feeling?

I own a perfume oil from India with no brand… and it outlasts almost everything in my collection 😂

This little perfume oil has been sitting in my collection next to all my branded fragrances, and honestly… it has no business being THIS persistent 😂
Someone brought it back for me from India. There’s no brand, I don’t even know the official notes, and it’s mainly made with essential oils. To my nose it’s very floral, but I don’t want to pretend I know the exact composition because I genuinely don’t.
What I DO know is that the longevity is ridiculous. It’s genuinely one of the most persistent fragrances I own — which is pretty funny considering some of the bottles sitting next to it cost considerably more 😭
And this little mystery oil is actually what made me want to explore perfume oils properly.
So now I’ve ordered several new ones, and they should be arriving over the next few days. 👀 I want to test them without going in with too many expectations: first smell, how they develop on my skin, longevity, which ones surprise me and which ones absolutely do not 😂
I create content around fragrance, skincare and beauty, but my favorite part is sharing the actual discovery process and comparing experiences with other fragrance lovers. So I’m going to bring this whole little perfume-oil experiment with me on my socials.
For those of you who already love perfume oils: what do they give you that traditional spray perfumes don’t? Because I have a feeling I’m about to enter another rabbit hole… 😂
