Roney's Point Tuberculosis Hospital was opened back in 1936 with funds from the Public Works Administration under 32nd President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and stayed open for a multitude of uses until it's eventual closure in 1972.
A small neighborhood is behind the building with about ten homes or so, down the road is also an abandoned mansion too that has aged as well.
There were also testimonies that stood out to me about the site...
"My great grandparents are buried there. No headstones. It was called a pauper’s plot. People who had no money or life insurance to pay for a burial were buried there. My mother was very familiar with the place and told me stuff. They also sent people there with TB. I had an aunt there."
"I was told the trees are evenly spaced apart because there are layers of dead bodies in between them from where the patients died."
Safe to say this was one of my favorite finds so far.
So this was my childhood Sears where my dad actually got the mower I used to cut the lawn for six years with. This store closed in September 2018 and the entrance was blacked out but the space is used for Spirit Halloween during the holidays.
The auto center has been untouched however, and the Sears may not be replaced full time as the Robinson Mall itself has been declining over the years as 20% of the retail space is now abandoned with the Wahlburgers at one of the entrances a glaring reminder of the decline of the mall. Seemingly this Sears will be sitting abandoned until the mall is gone itself one day.

On December 10th, 2019 the Ellwood City Medical Center was abandoned. One of the reasons was that the owners lost their medical license, but the hospital was already in financial ruin anyway.
It didn't even have working CT scanners by the end of it's life.
It was even raided by the FBI a month after it closed its doors in an investigation into it's owners, and a future president allegedly helping a family member who had ties to the company tried keeping it afloat.
Ever since this company has had no local critical care unit, and it seems there are no plans for the site despite community outcry with the former owners declaring bankruptcy a second time last year the future looks grim.

This Walmart has been abandoned for about ten years since January of 2016, honestly it looks very polished despite it being gone for over ten years. I took these photos in June of 2025.
The store abruptly closed and took the citizens by surprise, according to sources and my research there was high theft and it was allegedly underperforming.
This may have been the very location that replaced the store that was located at the failed City View Center site. As it was only open for eight years.
Have you been to this location? Share your thoughts below, it was really interesting to see an abandoned Walmart as they have a massive footprint on America and everyday shopping life.
