Hello Longmont,

I am still navigating a concussion and injuries from a car accident and would love some more recommendations.

I need physical therapy for my back.

And I need occupational therapy, speech therapy, and vestibular therapy for my concussion. Woohoo 🙄

I would love to hear your recommendations and experiences.

Based on conversation in this sub, I decided against chiropractic for now. I do have a rib that is very noticeably out of place, so that might be something for the future.

I am starting with craniosacral because it is very gentle. And I will start with the other therapies once I can navigate who and where and get those appointments set up. (All of this is an insane amount to navigate when you have a concussion.)

TL/DR : my car was totaled. 100% the other person's fault. He has insurance. My insurance is dicking me around. I bought a new used car.

Question: if I switch insurance companies for the new car, will that make my insurance company more likely to make this process even harder? If I stay as a customer are they going to be a little more cooperative than if I leave?

....

Here's the more detailed background:

I was in an accident that is 100% the other driver's fault, so I think my insurance (Hartford) should be reimbursed for everything by the other person's insurance (State Farm).

I would think they would be supportive and helpful. I have really good insurance. That way if I was in an accident, it wouldn't be any more stressful than necessary.

It has not worked out that way at all. Dealing with Hartford is like being attacked by a pack of coyotes. The first one is nice, the next one bites your ankle, the next coyote is okay, the next one comes and takes a big bite out of your ass. They're coming at you from all directions and you don't know what's next.

And no single agent has all of my information in one place. It's like they're trying to wear me down until I give up.

...

Here are a few more details:

The car was totaled and they're charging me $700 because I have a little vinyl sticker on my bumper. I'm so scared to drive, but have to drive an hour to go remove a sticker that will take me five minutes.

Another agent tells me that my Loan / Lease GAP Coverage isn't really gap coverage and that it won't cover the difference between the settlement for the car being totaled and the residual on the lease.

I lost about $3000 in electronic vehicle subsidies. My insurance doesn't cover this. But the thing that gets me is that they won't help me get this covered by the at-fault driver's insurance.

(Two of the agents have been kind. At least there's that.)

I'm dealing with all of this b.s. while recovering from injuries. Hours on the phone and tons of stress when I should be resting and healing.

I was feeling like i was losing my mind. Thankfully, the weekend came and gave me a break and time to take a step back from the pack of coyotes.
