USPS flagged my Amazon package for 'counterfeit postage' — has anyone seen this before?

Has anyone ever seen this happen with an Amazon order?

I ordered an item through Amazon from a third-party seller. According to tracking it was supposed to arrive yesterday, but USPS delayed it and the tracking message says the package was delayed because "counterfeit postage" was used.

I've honestly never seen that before.

I contacted the seller asking about a refund. At first my Amazon inquiry got canceled without really answering my question, so I followed up. The seller then sent me this message:

"According to the tracking information, your package should have arrived yesterday; however, USPS has informed us that there is a short delay in the delivery... since we still do not have confirmation of delivery for your order, we are authorizing a full refund."

They also said they shipped on time and that once the package is with USPS, delays are outside their control.

Here's the odd part — from what I can tell, they didn't seem to know about the USPS tracking message saying counterfeit postage was used until I pointed it out, and they haven't responded about that part yet.

They did refund me, so I'm not upset, just genuinely confused and curious. Has anyone else had USPS flag a package for counterfeit postage? Could this be some kind of label or postage mistake, or is this usually a real issue with how the package was shipped?

Hey everyone!

My fiancée and I run a super small YouTube channel, and we’ve started a series where we react to real lesbian stories from Reddit.

We already asked our first question — “What’s your craziest lesbian experience?” — and now we’re back with another one:

What was your “oh… I’m definitely gay” moment?

That one moment where it clicked. Maybe it was a realization out of nowhere, a crush that hit a little too hard, a “wait a second…” situation, or something that made you rethink everything 😂

It can be funny, chaotic, wholesome, awkward — anything!

We’re a tiny channel (like… tiny tiny), but we’d love to read and react to your stories if you’re okay with that. If you want to see your story featured, you can find our YouTube channel linked on my Reddit profile.

Thanks for sharing — we appreciate you! 🌈
