Reselling a suspected fake item

Hi all,

I suspect I know the answer to this, but it’s worth checking.

I was gifted a The North Face sling by an older relative. I suspect this sling is fake as it doesn’t look like any other sling made by them, the stitching is terrible, and the material feels scratchy.

I don’t have a need for it and was thinking of putting it on Vinted clearly disclosing that I believe it isn’t a genuine NF sling and pricing it as such.

1: would this violate the selling of counterfeit goods terms even if I’m not trying to pass it off as an original?

2: is this even legal anyway? Am I better to just give it away to a charity shop? Or would they face the same issue…

I’m more just curious at this point, but all help gratefully received.

Car part company not returning full refund. Realistic options? England

Hi all,

I suspect I may be fighting a losing battle in terms of recouping losses, but thought you would know better.

TL/DR is a car part company has been difficult. Took weeks to accept refund request, then only provided partial refund and is ghosting me. Full details below, but what are my rights?

I needed a new wheel hub for my car and I went on breakeryard.com to find a scrap one (my car is old and the manufacture no longer makes parts for it).

Using the exact part number that the garage gave me, I found one from a company called Rosslyn Car Parts at a decent price and ordered it. That same day, I ordered a new power steering pump from the same company using the same site, as mine was also on its way out. Two separate orders, but made on the same day (10-02-26).

We booked my car into the garage for around 10 days after as we wanted to fit both parts at the same time.

The hub was dispatched within a couple of days. After a week or so, the power steering pump had still not been shipped, so I reached out to ask when it would be processed. They had clearly just forgotten about it as I didn’t get a response from them, but I got a confirmation of order processing a few days after that. I had to move my garage date as it wouldn’t arrive on time.

When the garage went to fit the hub, they informed me that it was the wrong part. Pretty annoying, as we had used the exact part number to order it. I took it back from them, and immediately contacted the company to return the part for a refund

They were very hesitant, asking me what was wrong with it, and insisting I take photos of the part they had sent and the original part in situ. I told them I’m not a mechanic so I don’t know what’s wrong, but my mechanic has assured me it doesn’t fit, and I’m not in a position to take my car apart to show you the current hub. It took me four times asking them how I can return it before they finally sent me a return label.

They begrudgingly accepted the return once I was away from work, so there was a delay in shipping, but still within the time limit of the pre-paid shipping label they had sent me.

Once it had been returned, I then had to keep pushing them for an update and requesting a refund. Two weeks later, on the 11-04-26 they requested my bank details, which I sent them. A day later, an amount worth about 80% of the total was placed into my account from a company trading under a different name.

I immediately emailed them asking when I would receive the rest of my money, to which they didn’t reply. I pushed them a few days later and they said they would get back to me shortly.

I’ve heard nothing since.

So, what are my options? I guess I could threaten letter before action, but realistically I’m not going to go to court for such a small amount of money. Am I just going to have to accept it?

Hi all, I’m hoping people have some recommendations here.

I mostly work odd hours, usually late afternoon until early morning, with short notice, so specifically looking at friendly sports clubs that meet in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays. Preferably non-committal as I will have to miss weeks if my schedule changes.

As for the sport, kinda open to anything, really. Pickleball, badminton, squash, tennis, fishing, walking, running, football (if not too serious), basketball, archery, chess, cards, darts, boules…main thing for me is to get out of the house. I can’t promise I’ll be any good at them, but I can promise it will be entertaining to watch me try.

If anybody has any recommendations, or is a part of a club like this that would welcome a new member, let me know!

If it’s relevant, I’m male, 36, 6 foot tall, healthy
