The reality is the Infinity War trailer did more for Thanos than anything leading up to it.

I feel like Im the only one who remembers pre-Infinity War discussions at times.

I remember people getting restless about Thanos just sitting in a chair. I remember people talking about how villains like Kingpin & The Purple Man are far more interesting than whatever Thanos saga will be.

The difference was the MCU had banger after banger to keep fans + audiences satisfied while we waited to see how this played out. The ties were very thin if we're being honest.

That stretch from 2014-2018 is kinda insane looking back at it.

However, everyone was truly on board once we saw that Infinity War trailer. That trailer made Thanos look and feel like a threat that no other material had done before. Just an all time great MCU trailer.

We cared about the characters already AND we finally saw footage of Thanos looking menacing. Thats what took the hype to the next level.

I wish Jennifer Lame (Wakanda Forever, Oppenheimer, The Odyssey) co-edited Sinners

They already had a previous relationship with Wakanda Forever. She got a special thanks on Sinners so I'm sure she gave notes.

Michael Shawver did get nominated. I watched an Editors roundtable and Michael said after the movie locked he wasnt sure if he did a good job. He did imo. He deserves credit for being the one to suggest putting the ending at the beginning (it was brilliant). However, this was the only Coogler project he edited by himself. He had help on Fruitvale Station and Creed (Claudia Castello) and the Black Panther films (Debbie Berman and Jennifer Lame).

As much as I love Black Panther I do think Berman's already Marvel in house style works tad bit against it on repeated viewings. Still love the film though.

However, what Jennifer Lame has done with Oppenheimer and now The Odyssey is truly incredible. She's really good at making these epics have such dynamic editing to keep your interest.

I feel like there are scenes cut from Sinners that she could have figured out how to keep them still impactful without making the film slow. Nolan borrows Ludwig so I dont see why Coogler cant borrow Jennifer Lame.

And tbh...I think she edits action better than Michael. She understands scale better or at least knows how to incorporate it smoother imo.

Autumn Durald Arkapaw (cinematographer for BP3) posts goodbye from X-Files set and her next story includes T'Challa Jr post credit scene from Wakanda Forever.

So I have no idea how to share a story from IG.

https://www.instagram.com/addp/?hl=en

However, is it interesting that after the Thank You Vancouver she posts the credit scene of Wakanda Forever. Obviously her next project. Now its not a guarantee they follow little T'Challa, but man I think thats the first hint they are leaning that way instead of a variant.

Im one of the people who love Wakanda Forever and think its aging very well (as a film on its own). However, even I want a variant cause I dont want more negativity headed the franchise way.

Does Marlon have too much control? Why get Michael Tiddes? Keenan Ivory Wayans was the MVP of the 1st two Scary Movies.

Haunted House was mid/ok at best. And everything after was awful.

The selling point for this movie was that it was going to be a WAYANS BROTHERS film. My hope wasnt that just Marlon was coming back but Keenan Ivory Wayans would take control.

I listened to several podcasts where Shawn said they felt better about Scary Movie 1 because they had 3 years to work on it. Scary Movie 2 just had a year to work on it so it was kinda rushed. Even though its hilarious. However, I think the blessing in disguise was that Marlon was busy filming two other movies. He wasnt in it as much and the scenes featuring him were sort of made on the fly.

I knew something was wrong when I watched the trailer for this. The ideas were funny, but something about the execution was off.

If Keenan was unavailable then Marlon should have sought another director.

This reminds of Coming 2 America. They got a new director (who actually is good) but was just a bad fit for the material. They should have got John Landis back to do it or get someone who fit the material better.

This feels like Marlon making another stealth Marlon Wayans film.

Im out on them making White Chicks 2 because we know Michael Tiddes will be directing it.

Obsession Star Inde Navarrette says she'd love to join the world of Sinners.

I think she got the info mixed up from the podcast.

Ryan is doing X-Files. However, maybe thats where she could do something similar. People think just like Amy Madigan she can be nominated/win an oscar for a horror
