Nothing is ever good enough in this job.

I bust my ass to try to do fun activities and labs for the kids. I’m one of the few teachers in the grade who even does some of these activities.
They remain apathetic and hate me.

I got a 98% pass rate regents scores on bio last year even with an ICT group, I do professional activities beyond my building, stay late. Etc. and still Nothing is enough. I even have won national awards and fellowships over the years.

For years I’ve helped run a competitive club that represents the school and put a lot of personal hours into helping kids. And my work was overlooked and ignored.

I don’t get a single good job, keep it up; wow you worked so hard. Nothing.

I don’t understand. People get praise for doing much less. I feel like my work is not acknowledged or appreciated by anyone. Not by students or by admin.

These last few months I’ve felt like quitting or transferring schools to somewhere I’d be actually appreciated.

AI slop posters

It’s gotten out of control. AI posters all over school. AI logos. Kids cringe at it. Yet some adults parade it around and think it looks creative. How do we combat this? It’s awful

Looking to rent a parking spot near Murray Hill.

Is there a good place to look for listings? I tried Craigslist and I’m not sure if there’s an active Facebook page for the area.

Just moved to neighborhood and would love to rent a garage or parking spot.

Thanks!

This is my tenth year. I go out of my way to do fun activities and stuff no other teachers do and still kids complain. They hate me and my class.

Admin ignore my work entirely.

I’ve applied to and received several awards and fellowships both citywide and internationally and can’t even get a congratulations or any acknowledgment from admin. It’s never good enough.

People in my building do much less and are praised by admin.

I put in so much effort into my job and it’s never worth appreciating. Not from kids, admin, or anyone.

I legit feel like transferring schools or quitting. The only spaces I feel appreciated and supported in are the communities I’ve been a part of as a result of the fellowships I’ve received and gotten.

Over the years, I’ve applied to and received several awards and fellowships. These are

citywide, national and international. Not once has this ever been publicly acknowledged by my school in any way. I’m one of the only people in my building who does anything like this and can’t help but feel a bit offended.

I see other schools go as far to congratulate teachers publicly on their websites and social media…

Admin will publicly acknowledge other teachers accomplishments such as presenting at conferences.

Am I overreacting about this?
