Denam Lord build for a tank

Reborn. Though I'd ask here since you guys are so great with your responses. What 4 skills do I use for the Lord build. Right now I have sword skill (Although maybe I should be using hammers? Everyone seems to prefer those...), phalanx 3, meditate 4, and the last one is the problem. I alternate between pincer 4 and recruiting skills (or sometimes others situationally), but I feel I'm missing something better. Any advice? I got the shaman and just reached union level 40. About to do POTD.

Why does my gryphon get MP so quickly?

TO Reborn. What's the mechanic here? My gryphon seems to be gaining boku MP somehow. Not complaining, just curious. What other mechanics am I missing?

Why do weapons with the better stats sometimes bring the attack down?

As the title says. I'm playing Reborn. One example I encountered yesterday is with Arycelle. Damascus Bow +1 has a higher attack than Siege Bow +1, yet when I switched, her attack dropped a bit. Are there some hidden stats at play?

Apocrypha schmapocrypha

Playing Reborn and I just don't get it. Abuna Mrueva seemed so freaked out. For what? I finally got the lightning apocrypha spell and I know it's just tier 1 and they get better, but this isn't even as good as thunder flare 2. What gives? Am I missing something? How do I get the really good spells? Also, how do I get a ring of the dead?

All this "extra" content is meant to be done at level 36?

Ok - first time playing Reborn in Chapter 4 Lawful. I've recruited Ozma and Azelstan and Ganpp and Lindl and Ocionne. Any online walkthrough I look at has me going through the shrines, the palace of the dead and who even knows what else without leveling up. Is this really the way? When DOES the union level increase? Help me out here guys. Thanks

Fey Pact

I can never get Fey Pact to work. It always shows 0%. I'm using Vartan Canopus in Tactics Ogre Reborn. Don't have any trouble recruiting other types of characters. What am I doing wrong?

A few questions.

It's me again. I didn't go back for Ravness, but I was able to recruit Arycelle as well as Hobyrim and both white knights. Now I'm in chapter 4 and have a few questions.

  1. I just recruited my first hawkman. He's a rune fencer but seems to really suck. Is there a reason he can't learn heal 2 or 3 like my other rune fencers? Do rune fencers just suck now? Should I make him a vartan?

  2. Going forward, I'll probably need more dragoons and beast masters. Do I change people back and forth or leave them as one class? Should I just get rid of mage knights altogether?

  3. How do I get witches or warlocks? Is recruiting them the only way?

Thanks for your help. Any additional tips appreciated.

Should I go back to save Ravness?

I just discovered this game and love it! Haven't played this series since the original SNES Ogre Battle. I tried just playing it without looking up anything, but i gave in halfway through chapter 2. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to kill Ravness. It's it worth going back? Also, I'd it important to not kill Arycelle? This fight (vs Vyce) is tough without doing that.

What are the ideas here?

I got this position from Game Review of a blitz game. I'm white. Had my opponent made the "best" move, we'd have been here (black to play). The engine gives black an ever so slight edge, but I played around with analysis and bit and tried various variations with white always winning in the end. These types of endgames confuse me like nothing else. I get that I have to ignore the a pawn for now and move my king over first. I get that the rook *eventually* will have to go back to the 8th rank. Still, had this occurred in a game, I'd probably lose (as white *or* black). Can someone explain the basic strategy and ideas for each side? I know even on the sixth and seventh rank, my king can stop the connected pawns as long as his king is cut off. I just don't exactly know how to get there.

Test of Time question

Ok- I probably have a million more questions re: current game mechanics, but one comes to mind immediately:

Will I be penalized in Modern for razing settlements in Exploration? The text in the game says not, but I don't trust it further than I can throw it. (Which I can't; it's text. )

Why can't my ships that I built in distant lands go in deep water?

Exactly what the title says. During the last few turns of Exploration, when I've king since completed the tech tree and connected all settlements to my network, shipsfrom several of my distant land cities are unable to go past the shore. More than half the leaders have declared on me, and this is highly inconvenient. Anyone know what's going on here? Is it a bug with the new update?
