Dating When You're Getting Over Someone Else

I (22F) am a medical student who has been dating someone (24M) for 3 months. When I started school a year ago, I had a big crush on my guy best friend (24M) in school. I never told him how I felt, but based on how he treats me, I really don’t think it’s mutual. I wanted to tell him, but I didn’t want to make things awkward for our friend group, so I have been trying to get over him as best as I can. I recently started dating my current boyfriend, and he has been great to get to know and makes me happy. There are, however, a few red flags in our relationship. His education is one thing, as he got kicked out of college. There is nothing wrong with that, but personally education is very important to me, and this is something I feel like we don’t align on. I was doing well with dating my current boyfriend and wasn’t thinking about my best friend as much, so when he asked me to be his girlfriend, I said yes. He had asked me prior, but I told him I wasn’t ready, but I really felt that this time, I was. The other night, however, I brought him around my friends (including my best guy friend) and he made a lot of jealous comments towards him and my other guy friends that made me upset. I’m not sure what to do, I really want to give him a chance, but I’m scared I may have residual feelings for my friend. I feel horrible about it, but I’m not sure what else I can do because I want to try and move on, I just don’t want to hurt anyone else. My guy best friend also got into a relationship soon after I did, and I think that makes me feel bad as well, which I also feel horrible about. I’m also scared that some of the red flags I’ve seen so far may become bigger issues later. What should I do?
