Where to socialize in Inglewood in mid-30s?

I (37F) moved to Inglewood a few months ago to move in with my husband. I used to live in Los Feliz which had a lot of live music, poetry events, movies (American Cinematheque, indie theatres, etc.). I don't drink and am not particularly interested in bars, but would love to hear about where other 30 something and 40 something year olds hang out in Inglewood. What do you do for fun? Where do you go?

I know Leimert Park well and go to events there sometimes (World Stage etc.). I occasionally go to shows at the Miracle. I'm looking for additional options to make local friends. My husband is an introvert so he doesn't have a ton of recommendations lol. TIA!

How to stage beach wedding ($30K - SoCal)?

Hello, future brides and grooms!
My fiancé and I are planning a beach wedding and are three weeks away from the big day. We're keeping it small and simple (35 guests), which is lovely. That said, I'm a bit confused about staging... I've only been to a few weddings and am used to church settings, where the guests sit down, and the few people who are part of the procession wait in the hall of the church and walk in only once the ceremony starts. Similarly, the bride enters last and no one sees her until the ceremony starts.

On the beach, it's trickier because it's all open air so there's no private space for people to wait. Where does the broom go? Where does the bride go? I don't mind people seeing me (it is a beach wedding after all), but I'm not sure how to not make the staging feel too random and chaotic. I also want the people involved in the wedding (officiant) to have clear instructions.

This may be silly but I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm a bit overwhelmed by it all. To the people who did (or attended) a beach wedding: how did you handle that?

How do I eFile a small claim in LA as an individual (not a law firm)?

Hi Reddit folks,

I am a tenant who wants to eFile a small claim against my LA landlord over my security deposit. I have completed the SC-100 form (fillable PDF).

I've looked at the LA Superior Court website and visited multiple Electronic Filing Service Provider websites, but they all seem to be made for law firms, not for individuals. I literally have one form that I want to file and that's it. I don't want a big subscription, I just want to pay a one-time fee and file the darn thing.
Has anyone done this? If so, how / which provider did you use? TIA!

Hi everyone,

SoCal bride (LA County), 40 person wedding. We are planning a ceremony at a local beach, followed by a family/friends dinner at a nearby restaurant (no risk of sand in food etc.).

I'm reading mixed reviews about beach wedding experiences. For those of you who did (or attended) a beach ceremony, can you help share your experiences? Specifically:

  • Did you do a procession? Feels weird for fully outdoor ceremony? I can imagine it for a church, but feel like everyone will see everyone for a beach ceremony, so a procession probably doesn't make sense (esp. for small group of 40)
  • We're thinking of having an acoustic musician play. Amplification is not allowed on the beach per City rules. At your ceremony, were people able to hear the music?
  • Were people able to hear the vows? I'm hoping having a small group (40 people) will help with this since people will be closer to us during the vows.

We'll also have a vendor help with set-up (chairs, shades, flowers, etc.). It's SoCal, so we're not worried about the weather (like the song goes, it never rains in Southern California). TIA!
