Axle swap time

Im working on yanking mg dana 44 hp and dana 60 out of my 79 super cab. Swapping to a 60hp and sterling 10.5 (adding lockers and all the goodies) with this im adding new springs and shocks. Iv done some axle work but this will be mt first "non oe" style swap and the first time doing it with a carrier bearing. Plan is to set the axle together with out welding and let the suspension rest on it so that I can set the axle pinion angle to the carrier bearing angle and weld it in final. Once thats done I'll putting it out and do the overhaul, brakes paint work and what not. Also- i have auto meter guages currently hooked up to a cable to the speedo gear in the t case. I want to use the speed sensor in the rear of this sterling to feed the mechanical gauge on the dash. Is there a "converter' or is it best to just swap gauges? Thoughts or changes?
