How are you guys actually tracking profit on Etsy POD orders?

I’ve been using a spreadsheet to track profit on my Etsy POD sales, but I’m terrible at keeping it updated.

The annoying part is that the sale amount obviously isn’t what you actually made. By the time I account for Etsy fees, the print provider cost, shipping, etc., the profit can look pretty different.

I’ve been thinking about making something for myself that would automatically pull the order numbers together and show actual profit per order/product instead of manually updating a spreadsheet.
Before I spend a bunch of time on it, I’m curious how everyone else handles this.

Do you:
use a spreadsheet?
use Etsy’s numbers and estimate from there?
use another app/software?
just check your print provider + Etsy separately?

And if you do use a spreadsheet, is keeping it updated annoying for you too, or am I making this into a bigger problem than it actually is?

Especially interested in hearing from people doing enough orders that manually tracking everything starts getting messy.

I'm building a tool that auto-calculates real profit on every Etsy POD sale. Would this actually be useful, or am I overthinking it?

I keep running into the same thing. You make a sale, feel great, then realize the platform fee plus print cost plus shipping ate a chunk of it. I've been tracking mine in a spreadsheet and I hate it. I fall behind within a week and the numbers go stale.

So I'm building a simple tool that connects to your shop once and pulls every order automatically. Sale price, fees, line items. It shows you real profit per product and per month, updated on its own. Read-only, no touching listings or orders.

I haven't built the sync yet. I put up a landing page first to see if anyone actually wants this before I sink more time into it - link here

Honest question for fellow POD sellers. Do you actually struggle with this, or is a spreadsheet "good enough" for you? What do you currently use? What would make you switch? I'd rather hear "this is dumb, I already do X" now than after I've built it.

Not selling anything. No payment, just an email if you want a heads up when it's ready.
