I don’t understand being a voluntary patient.

So I ended up getting a 136 and now it’s been like 2 days since. I was assessed yesterday and they basically said that the options are informal or formal. I honestly don’t understand the distinction. They’re identical. My vape has basically ran out and I can’t get another. I’ve been wearing the same clothes for 2 days too. This is ridiculous

I still can’t appeal their incorrect decision cause I’m still sitting in a 136 suite 😂

So what is the actual differences between the two and how do I appeal it?

Edit: idk why this is getting so many downvotes. Maybe i said something stupid. If that’s the case, they should’ve stopped giving me so many benzos

Discharged from crisis seconds after I said I was going to end my life.

I was discharged 2 days after an urgent assessment lmao. I was offered regular antidepressants that I refused because they make me worse. Then I was signposted to a charity that doesn’t handle anything crisis related. After being told I’d end up on the same year long wait list I was on before I said I’d die before then and the clinician said “well, that’s your prerogative”.

Definitely not worth it at all in the end. Literally nothing changed. Now several people know a bunch of shit I’m deeply ashamed and disgusted by. I wish I never told anyone anything.

I have an urgent mental health assessment today and I’m terrified. Can they make me tell them certain things?

Brief mention of CSA

My gp referred me to the crisis team after an appointment yesterday and I spoke to them. On the phone they were like “well you’re already referred to this service and it will take 1 year or whatever to begin treatment. I told her I can’t keep going how I am now and have been for 7 years and she asked why I feel like this. I responded by saying a bunch of a traumatic things that happened. I remember her saying something like “oh that’s terrible” after I said the first couple of things but I just kept listing things off. After she comforted me because I couldn’t stop sobbing, and resumed asking some questions again. One of the things she asked was who did the csa and I said it doesn’t matter. I don’t want to tell anyone who it is or make a report or anything like that, I’m frightened that they will make me tell them. Is this something that they can or will do?

Also, can anyone else who has had the assessment please tell me what it’s like generally? I haven’t had one since 14 so I imagine it’s different as an adult.

Sorry for the lack of paragraphs and other issues. I’ve been awake for a long time and hardly slept for days.

One thing I thought was quite funny is when she said “well there are definitely pathways we can use to help you” after I said it all. So my response was “did this pathway only come into existence during this phone call?” She missed what I was saying and the joke went over her head so she answered it like a question. I was saying “nothing has changed in how I feel, I’ve only told the detailed horror story behind it, not the vague version.”

Thank you for any replies.

How do you start recovering from this? I’m completely lost

Firstly I just want to say I’ve not been diagnosed with cptsd, but I think I might have it given my traumatic childhood and state over the last 7 years. I’ve never had any help so I’ve had no opportunity to get a diagnosis or anything. If I’m in the wrong place lmk.

For the last 7 years I’ve been almost totally disconnected from the world, except from a couple family members. I don’t really go outside at all, I just stay in and usually scroll everyday or day dream for hours and hours while laying down.

It’s not that I don’t want to do things either. I just genuinely feel stuck and unable to do anything even when I have no reason to feel that way.

Sometimes I realise just how unhappy, pathetic and embarrassing my life is and want to change it. When I try I never manage to do anything though.

I have absolutely no idea what to do. I just want to be normal and I have no idea how to get there because I’ve only failed in the past.

Does anyone know where I even begin?
