Double Talk is an underrated gem.

Now who's the dummy?

The episode is both tense and cathartic. It's a villain reform episode where the former villain is genuinely an innocent victim we want to see get better and escape his past for good. When Scarface eventually does re-emerge, there's a genuine sense of heartbreak, and when Wesker finally takes him out, there's a genuine sense of relief. Also, one of the few times in TNBA where Batman's compassion is on full display. He gives Wesker a second chance by getting him a job and even a home with Wayne Enterprises, and acts as a sort of guardian angel when his past comes back to haunt him. I don't think a villain reform has ever felt more earned than in this episode.

This is my own personal rewrite, with something closer to the original Snow Queen. The Now Queen is the villain, and the main character is Kai, a character from the original story. My own take also draws inspiration from the anime Trigun, with the protagonist seen as a dangerous freak of nature by the world at large, only for those who get close to him to discover he is a gentle, silly, lonely soul.

Enjoy!
