Condiment kings modern reputation really annoys me and I admit this is a nerdy complaint

It’s always bizarre to me when I see shit like “condiment king?! Psh what a stupid villain! Among the ranks of WORST Batman villain”. And I’m like yeah that was always the point. For those who don’t know the episode of the animated series he debuts in has joker hypnotizing comedians to be shitty villains after they roasted him.

What’s so bizarre to me is that no one ever talks about the other two villains in the episode being pack rat and mighty mom. They are pretty much just as stupid and useless. It feels like a big sign of people who just didn’t watch the episode and just heard the name and assumed he was a golden age villain akin to polka dot man or something

Two-Face's physical abilities.

One thing that strikes me is Two-Face's physical abilities. He's the only Batman villain without a mutation like Crog or steroid use like Bane who can give Batman a real fight. I'm not mentioning Kyodai because he possesses the same martial arts skills as Wayne. In other words, Two-Face can throw Batman, lift men, and fight multiple opponents.

Why such blind trust?

One thing that strikes me is that James Gordon, the Gotham police commissioner, blindly trusts Batman. Even when Batman's testimony is found alongside Chucky Sol's corpse in *Mask of the Phantasm*, Gordon refuses to believe it and makes no attempt to capture him. While we all know Batman is a hero, he's a man who dresses as a bat, frightens criminals, and sometimes extracts confessions through intimidation—things a police officer would never do.

I wish they brought TAS back so bad.

Seriously though, the animation and the storyline in each episode were superb. The dark Deco setting and the whole vibe were incredible. Man, every time I hit play on one of my favorite episodes, the nostalgia hits hard and somehow takes me back to my teenage years. I wish I could erase TAS from my memory and watch the whole thing for the first time, just to feel that experience all over again.

If any villain were Batman's sidekick, which one would Bruce accept?

Let's suppose Dick had never been Robin. Which villain would Bruce have accepted as a sidekick?

Hitmen at War.

In Bruce Timm's universe, villains often had henchmen, some of whom later became major villains themselves. But what do you think? If these henchmen faced off, who would win?

It might be an unpopular opinion, or a hot take, but I think that the society of shadows in the episode Off Balance should've been replaced with the court of owls.

And should have the episode had include the court of owls, I think that it should be a two parter.

What do you think?

I actually quite liked this episode.

Seeing Batman going Daredevil mode was tones of fun. And that read eyed Batman look is so sick. We got to see this look in other episodes, like Vendetta, and His Silicone Soul, and it made for quite a unique sight. Blinding Bruce made for an outstanding obstacle for Batman to face.

It was pretty cool having a much more manecing Penguin.

Having Leslie in an episode is always a delight. Appointment in Crime Alley and Paging the Crime Doctor are some of my favourite episodes in the whole show. It's really sweet that aside from Alfred, she's the only person Bruce decided to share his secret with. How do you think that reveal would've go down?

I have a question: Why did Bruce refused to let the Wayne teach doctors treat him? His blindness might jeopardized his secret identity, or something? Please, let me know.

Random Gripe

Just started BTAS for the first time and nobody warned me Bruce Wayne is kind of a creep in episode 1? The cat and the claw I was told the watch order can depend on the person.

He physically grabs Selina by the arm at the auction, then basically steamrolls her into agreeing to a date. She wasn't exactly throwing herself at him, he just decided he was interested and that was that. Gave me weird vibes the whole scene. I get that times were different back then, but it threw my interest in the show off right away, I loved the batman scenes but when it’s Bruce Wayne I just see some rich snob who thinks he’s entitled to any woman of his choice.

Is he like that throughout the whole show?
