MacBook Pro M4 Pro completely dead—No MagSafe light, won't turn on. Anyone experienced this?
Hey everyone,
I’m facing a sudden and stressful issue with my MacBook Pro (M4 Pro chip) and could really use some insight or advice if anyone has gone through something similar.
The Situation:
Today, I tried to turn it on after leaving it completely unused for about a week. Absolutely nothing happens. It is completely dead.
What I’ve tried/checked:
Power Source: I connected the MagSafe charger, but the MagSafe LED light doesn’t even turn on (no amber, no green, completely unlit).
Battery Level: I am highly confident the battery shouldn't be completely drained; I almost always use it plugged into the charger to preserve battery health and keep the cycle count low.
Force Restart: I tried holding down the power/Touch ID button for 15–20 seconds, but there is no sign of life—no screen backlight, no Apple logo, no fan spin, and no trackpad haptic click.
Physical Condition: The laptop is practically brand new (bought about a year ago), has never been dropped, has zero physical damage, and has never been near liquid.
It was working flawlessly the last time I shut it down.
Has anyone with an M4-generation MacBook experienced a sudden logic board failure, a bad PMIC (Power Management IC), or a known issue where the MagSafe port completely stops recognizing power? What could this be?
Appreciate any help or troubleshooting steps I might have missed before I schedule an Apple Store appointment!
