Targaryen Family Tree chart!

Targaryen Family Tree chart!

I just learnt how to make charts and it's probably been done a thousand times before but I just had to make the Targaryen family tree for my first chart, I'm really happy of how it turned out!

Edit: I just noticed Jocelyn Baratheon is missing from where she should be, I fixed it for myself even if it's too late for the reddit post :')

I'm so confused about the coefficient of relatedness

I've been trying to understand how to calculate relatedness in complex pedigrees with several instances of inbreeding. For a long time I just calculated the coefficient of inbreeding and multiplied that by 2 for the parents' relatedness. And then I had this "huh?" moment when I realised that the inbreeding coefficient is a value between 0 and 1... and so is the coefficient of relatedness. Which means it can't be as simple as being two times the inbreeding coefficient because if it was, the coefficient of relatedness would be able to go up to 2. Unless I'm really understanding this wrong. I just feel really confused right now, and I'd appreciate it greatly if someone could explain how it actually works. Thank you!

Can't log in anymore

When I attempt to log in, it loads just like usual but then instead of logging me in, it puts me right back to the log in screen, with my email and password still typed in. No error, no "wrong email or password", nothing like that. The email and password are definitely right, I checked several times. It's doing it on all my devices. It's never done that before. Does anyone know what caused it, and if there's a fix? Is it just me or is it happening to more people right now?

Can't see chat input window on desktop

I can see chat, but the bar to type and send is just completely gone. It's been the case since I started my laptop this morning. I tried refreshing, I tried restarting my laptop, it does it on anyone's chat. I tried using the popout chat window but the input window is also gone there. I don't have that problem on my phone, same Twitch account. Does anyone know a fix?

How much is every character related: a masterlist

TLDR is at the bottom!

Hello fellow warriors, this is your local autistic Warrior Cats fan!

As I am gifted with not only the Warrior Cats autism but also the genealogy autism as well as the genetics autism, I inevitably ended up knowing by heart how every single character is related and ended up longing to create an actual spreadsheet with every character's coefficient of relatedness to each other.

Now, what is the coefficient of relatedness, you may ask? Long story short, this is how much DNA two individuals share. Simple enough when two individuals are only related one way (for example, two siblings whose parents are unrelated), however, it gets a little more complicated when these individuals are related via multiple different ways (for example, if an individual's paternal first cousin is also their third cousin or something on their maternal side). All these different ways add up, so you may get cousins who share more DNA than the average cousins, for example. I mean, how else would dear Moonpaw have an inbreeding coefficient of 11.9% if her parents had just been normal first cousins? (for reference, offspring of first cousins pairings typically result in an inbreeding coefficient of 6.25%)

Here's a simple example you all should be more or less familiar with: Dovewing and Tigerheart/star are related in three different ways, though distant. The first and closest one is that they are second cousins once removed via their common ancestors Speckletail and Smallear (Dovewing is Lionheart's great-granddaughter and Tigerstar is Goldenflower's grandson). This gives them a base of around 1.56% for their coefficient of relatedness (COR). However, they are also fourth cousins twice removed via sisters Sweetbriar and Fallowsong, which adds an additional 0.05%. Finally, they are fifth cousins once removed via sisters Daisytoe and Flashnose, which adds around 0.02%. So, in total, Dovewing and Tigerstar have a COR of around 1.64%.

Now, before you panic! This is not dangerous, genetically. Their kits have an inbreeding coefficient (COI) of 0.82%, which is very low and typically harmless. By the way, the COI can be easily calculated when you already have the COR of the parents, by simply dividing the COR by 2. A COI of 5% (and thus the parents having a COR of 10%) is considered by most animal breeders to be the threshold where higher than that, it gets really unethical and potentially dangerous.

So, how does the spreadsheet work? I've added to it every character that is somehow related to the main big family tree, which is about 500+ individuals. If you can't find a certain character, that probably means they couldn't be connected to the main family tree by blood. Many cats outside ThunderClan are absent for this very reason, but not all! Families included that are not from ThunderClan are for example Crookedstar or Yellowfang's respective families, as they can eventually be linked to the main family tree.

The characters are listed in birth order, as it was necessary for the formulas I used to make the actual spreadsheet. I recommend you use Ctrl+F to find certain characters if you can't find them initially. The birth order is very approximate for characters where we don't know when they were born, by the way.

To find two characters' COR, just find the first character you want on the rows and the second one on the columns, or vice-versa. Where the row and column cross will be their COR.

Here's a little guide on what COR amounts to, generally:

Parent/child, full siblings: 50%

Half-siblings, uncle-aunt/nephew-niece, grandparent/grandchild: 25%

First cousins, great-uncle-aunt/grandnephew-niece: 12.5%

Second cousins: 6.25%

Etc!

If you're wondering how this is useful, this can for example help figure out exactly which pairings should absolutely not exist (*cough cough* Moonpaw's parents). This can also remind Myrtlebloom that she is in fact related to Firestar, and almost as much as Nightheart is (for those who don't have the reference, Myrtlebloom told Nightheart something like "you have no idea what some would do to be related to Firestar" but girlie, you ARE related to Firestar, you're his great-great-granddaughter AND his great-grandniece!).

TLDR: I made a spreadsheet where you can check how much DNA Warrior Cats characters share with each other.

Update: The spreadsheet now includes every character's COI (coefficient of inbreeding).
