🚨 GEORGIA KRATOM ADVOCATES — WE NEED TO SHOW UP! 🚨

Georgia’s Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail-Available Substances will hold its SECOND meeting on Friday, August 21, 2026, and kratom advocates need to PACK THE ROOM.

📅 Friday, August 21, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM–1:00 PM ET
📍 College of Coastal Georgia
Southeast Georgia Conference Center
7 Mariner Way, Brunswick, GA 31520

The committee says its purpose is to evaluate kratom and other retail-available substances in order to protect minors and reduce youth access. Protecting children is something we can all support. But protecting youth should NOT require demonizing responsible adult kratom consumers or treating traditional kratom leaf as if it is the same thing as dangerous, highly concentrated or adulterated products.

The June meeting had a great turnout from the kratom community, and we need an even stronger presence in Brunswick.

Kratom consumers are real people. Many are parents, workers, veterans, chronic-pain patients, and people who say kratom has helped them move away from far more dangerous substances. Their experiences deserve to be part of this conversation.

We support sensible regulation: age restrictions, responsible labeling, product testing, manufacturing standards, and keeping unsafe products away from minors. What we do NOT support is fear-based policymaking that could ultimately punish responsible adults or eliminate access to traditional kratom products.

📢 YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TESTIFY.

Simply attending matters. A room full of kratom advocates sends a powerful message that Georgians are paying attention and that decisions about kratom should not be made without the people who will actually be affected.

If you can make it to Brunswick on August 21, PLEASE SIGN UP AND SHOW UP.

🌿 Protect kids. Regulate responsibly. Protect adult access. Follow the science.

Georgia kratom advocates, let’s PACK THAT ROOM. 💚🌿

Wild toad visits up every single night!

A wild toad comes to the exact same spot every night for the past 2 weeks now! We love her! We give her meal worms and crickets. And she even loves gentle little pets on the side of her neck! She’s such a sweet girl! I’m gonna be so sad when winter comes and we won’t get to see her anymore! But she literally remembers to come every single night ever since we started feeding her treats.

To Petco customers and employees: Please take a few minutes to learn where many pet store birds come from.

I know this may be difficult to read, but I think it's important that people are informed before deciding whether to purchase a bird from a retail pet store.

A recent undercover investigation documented conditions at Creekside Birds, a commercial bird breeder in Oklahoma that supplied birds into the retail pet trade, including birds that investigators say entered the supply chain for major pet store chains. The investigation alleged that birds were kept in overcrowded, filthy cages, sick and injured birds were denied veterinary care, and workers killed birds using methods that caused significant suffering. During the investigation, workers reportedly found nearly 1,400 dead birds in just 27 days. Following the investigation, the USDA cited the facility for thousands of alleged violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act after its inspection.

Whether you're a Petco customer, employee, or simply someone who loves birds, I encourage you to look at the evidence for yourself and decide what you think.

Undercover investigation:

Inside Edition coverage:

⚠️** Warnin**g: The videos contain graphic footage that may be disturbing.

In my opinion, birds are intelligent, social animals who deserve far better than being treated as merchandise. I hope companies that sell birds will seriously reexamine their supply chains and consider ending the sale of birds altogether.

If you care about animal welfare, please take a few minutes to watch the investigation, read the information, and share it with others. The more informed people are, the better decisions they can make.

I'd be interested in hearing respectful thoughts from both customers and employees who have experience with Petco or the pet bird industry.

Georgia Kratom Consumers! We Need You! Please!

Georgia Kratom Consumers: We Need to Show Up on June 17

I wanted to make sure everyone in Georgia is aware of an important upcoming meeting that could impact the future of kratom in our state.

The Georgia House has created the Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail-Available Substances. The committee's purpose is to evaluate youth exposure to kratom and other retail-available products and make recommendations to lawmakers.

The first meeting will be:

Thursday, June 17, 2026
9:00 AM
Room 505, Coverdell Office Building
18 Capitol Square SW
Atlanta, GA 30334

I will absolutely be there, and I strongly encourage other Georgia kratom consumers, advocates, vendors, kava bar owners, and supporters to attend if they are able.

You do not have to testify. Simply being present matters.

Many lawmakers have heard from organizations, lobbyists, and critics. What they often do not hear enough of are the stories of the people who actually use kratom responsibly.

If kratom has helped you manage pain, improve your quality of life, stay away from alcohol, maintain recovery from opioids, or simply function better day to day, this is your opportunity to be seen and heard.

Study committees are often where lawmakers gather information before future legislation is introduced. The people in that room will be helping shape the conversation going forward. If consumers are not present, then others will tell our story for us.

Lawmakers should hear directly from the people whose lives are affected by these decisions.

If you live in Georgia, please consider attending. Bring a friend. Share this post. Let local kava bars and kratom businesses know. A strong turnout can make a difference.

Hope to see many of you there.
