Old Calobo Video

I'm curious what is out there, besides the (spectacular, mostly) reunion in 2012 done by TaperMark, in terms of video.

While I only had a single Hi-8 camera (that I borrowed...), and my main focus, as a taper, was the audio - some of this isn't too bad. The audio is better than you'd get with most camera mics.

This is at the end of 1996, for their only trip to Arizona (at least as far as I'm aware).

The only other (even close to) complete shows on YouTube are courtesy of my brother (who was CaloboFan on GeoCIties or Tripod or whatever), who never had any audio equipment.

My question is: does anybody at all have any live complete shows from the '90s that are better than what I've posted, or is that the "reference" video? Please tell me there is something better out there!

Oregon Music Hall of Fame

I guess I'm slow, but I hear that Calobo is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, but then I'm scanning along, and *bam* Artist of the Year : The Decemberists...

Does that actually mean that Jenny is now being inducted for the 5th AND 6th time? She got the personal award in 2024 for the 4th.

Anyway, here is the list and a way to buy tickets to the ceremony. I think I may have to... it is a trip to get there, but it may be time. October 10th in the City of Roses.

Warsaw Poland Bros. 24th St. house parties - who was there?

They were epic! This particular shot was from after the O'Malley's show on May 4th (be with you...) 2002.

I watched some old footage after being inspired by house parties seen on A Tale of Two Houses.

Anyway, does anyone have memories (this seems unlikely...) of the parties on 24th (just west of Country Club)?

MCAU impact

I will elaborate somehow, but this seemed like the right place...

Huge fan - mostly lurker... anyway, last weekend I made ice cream. It wasn't even that good - I think it needed less milk and more cream. Anyway, I'd maybe change this to a gelato... but whoa...
I made, without looking something up, is habañero ice cream. I guess it is actually a thing.
Well, I took a pint to work and made 6 people Coke and habañero floats (spiders). Well, I have to say that these people (mostly) haven't watched MCAU. They were floored! Like, the foam was spicy! The ice cream sort of cooled things down, but it also hit up to a half hour later!
I made a no-egg ice cream with both habañero salsa, which has an intense heat right away and crazy fruity flavor of the chilli and then an oil that leaves your chest with a slow burn that can last a half an hour! So good!
Anyway, everyone was like, WTF??? MCAU for the WIN!

I'm working on this habañero situation, but basically I made a salsa with seeded habañeo flesh, garlic, shallots and 25 year old sherry vinegar (this stuff is amazing! south of Spain - crazy good!)
The oil is grapeseed oil heated up and then oven-dehydrated habañero seeds and veins is added to the hot oil. Whoa.

Sorry it isn't MCAU related, per se, but I think you guys will get it.
