currently building a jazzmaster baritone, it has a 27 inch neck and im hoping to use it around drop a/b standard. what gauge strings should i start with? Also should i keep the standard squier bridge saddles? or change them out for fender ones i have laying around? (pics for reference)
not sure if this is the right place, but im currently building a budget baritone and the body is an affinity jazzmaster (2016 i think). my im wondering how other people find the squier hardtail saddles as far as string breaks or snags especially with heavier gauge strings? i also have a set of fender saddles laying around but they have no string slots at all (pictures for comparison) so im not really sure which would be a better option.
tldr: are the squier hardtail saddles any good for heavier gauges or should i switch out to fender ones?
