I feel like I’m losing my mind! RE: Patient Zero

I just listened to it for the bajilionth time, and I just noticed that the hums at the beginning are the notes for ‘So Long London’

I’m here on behalf of my stepson

My 13 year old has a hospital day every so often and he struggles with trying to find things to do that aren’t just scrolling. (His own choice). All of their friends are at school and can’t check phones. He will often watch movies and shows so I’m not concerned about hearing those suggestions.

Usually the iv is in their non dominant arm, but sometimes dominant.

They like artsy things like diamond art, but find the small kits too easy. Holding books gets hard for him after a while. We try to encourage drawing, but not always an interest.

What are some things y’all can think of, especially my chronic illness pals

Advice for scrolling under the guise of ‘inspiration’

As the title says, I have a bad habit of scrolling Pinterest and Reddit for inspiration for hobbies and cooking. My argument for it is that I genuinely do get inspiration for my hobbies and recipes, BUT I either end up scrolling/saving which isn’t the goal or I get distracted by something irrelevant and basically go down a superficial rabbit hole.

I don’t know how to balance the helpfulness of these two with my brain seeking easy dopamine. Any suggestions

Found a book

Found this in a stack of books (and one shoe we’ll definitely find a match for 🙄) I can tell bought for good intentions. The boxes are the boxes I haven’t been unable to unpack since I had to move in October. Why is everything still in boxes? There’s no room to put anything of my stuff. Also noting I didn’t learn how to clean until I forced my way out at 18 by looking things up on the internet.

Putting kids to sleep

Hello all, long time lurker. I generally stay in my kid’s room until they fall asleep. Usually I’d think about bringing a book or working on crochet because the night light is bright enough.

However, my kiddo generally likes to hold hands when they’re falling asleep. What could I do one handed so that I’m not just scrolling?

Name, clan, rank?

My bestest fur buddy has been having some health issues lately and I thought of doing something silly to help ease the stress for this very concerned twoleg. He’s 4 and guards his family with great strength. He loves to lay in the sun, rabbits and squirrels are is favorite observation. He blends in well and is very sneaky (we swear he teleports). Despite his constant annoyance at the world, he’s very much a lover boy through and through
