What happens if you kill important NPCs?

I just started Dishonored 1, and after waking up from talking to the Outsider, I went back over to Pierro’s shop to buy some more items. When walking in, I misclicked and accidentally killed him. Fortunately, I had an auto save from about a minute earlier so I immediately reloaded.

This made me wonder though, what would happen if you just kill Piero? Is his shop and the items he sells permanently inaccessible? I walked around and noticed that the “kill” prompt shows up behind almost every friendly NPC in the pub. I’m not that far in, but it seems like most of these guys are fairly important, and it’s interesting killing them is even an option. If anyone knows, I’d be very curious to how this affects the rest of the game.

Upgrading options for my PC in 2026

Specs:

Ryzen 5 3600X

RTX 2060 6GB

16GB RAM

I built my PC in 2020 and its served me well for the last 6 years with mid-range specs (for 2020). For the most part, the games I play aren't that technically demanding (Factorio, EU5, Hitman WOA), but lately I've picked up some newer games that have really made my PC start to chug. I recently bought Subnautica 2 and the PC sounds like a jet engine running it on medium-low settings with DLSS on performance. It seems the time is right for me to start investing in an upgrade. Regarding my specs listed below, what should I upgrade first? And what should I upgrade to? My budget for now is around ~500 dollars (but I'm not expecting to upgrade GPU, CPU, and RAM all at once). Also, I currently have a 1080p monitor but I might be looking to upgrade to something 1440p or 4k.
