Rewatching 6x10 and realizing 2028 is basically soon

I rewatched episode 6x10 of Charmed and it gave me a lot of thoughts 😅

- The scene where the sisters go to little Bianca’s house and meet her mother weirdly reminded me of that scene in Kill Bill: Vol 1 where Beatrix goes to Vivica A. Fox’s house and finds her with her daughter. The vibe felt oddly similar to me.

- When we see the Charmed museum scene, they say it’s “25 years later,” which would technically make it 2028, right? 😭 It’s just funny because back then “25 years later” sounded like some super distant future with the Halliwell kids… and now it’s wild realizing it’s basically now since the premiere of Charmed was 28 years ago.

- I honestly have no strong opinion on Bianca. Completely neutral. But theoretically, it would be interesting to know what happened to her and Chris in the new timeline/reality. She wasn’t exactly a “good witch,” and their relationship seemed very tied to the dystopian future under evil Wyatt. I’d also love to know more about the Phoenix witches in general. And if anyone believes in astrology (which the show itself kind of played with too), Chris being born in a different timeline could’ve shifted not only his birth circumstances, but maybe even parts of his personality and destiny.

- Since I’m already in the middle of season 6, I think I have to say that Jason feels like one of the better matches for Phoebe. I haven’t even reached their breakup again yet, but I already feel kind of sad about it. Honestly, I never really judge the mortals in this show for freaking out after learning about magic their whole worldview basically collapses. But it genuinely felt like Jason and Phoebe loved each other despite the distance, secrets
So yeah… if not Cole, then definitely not Coop for me. Probably Jason ( maybe he’s not deep or passionate i dont khow )

need Sephora recommendations for Watery Eyes, Smudging & Creasing Under-Eyes

Reposting this because my previous post got removed by the Sephora subreddit for “not being about Sephora as a company” even though like 90% of the products I mentioned were bought at Sephora and are sold there 🫠So I guess I should phrase it more directly as: WHAT SHOULD I BUY AT SEPHORA for this issue…
because that actually is my question.
And i even mentioned tester from sephora to be buy after well I don’t people just asking what’s to buy and it’s okay but whatever

Also some people weirdly jumped on me accusing me of “trying to become Gabriette” when I VERY clearly said I was simply inspired by some of her eye makeup looks 🤦🏽‍♀️. I even have my real photo at profile pic but again WHATEVER

Anyway, reposting because the previous thread had some genuinely useful advice and I wanted to continue the discussion:

I recently tried wearing smoky eyes again (MAC Paint Pot in Tailor Grey) and lining my waterline with a black pencil ( long-lasting black pencil ), slightly smudging it out at the outer corners above and below the eye (kinda inspired by Gabriette eye looks). BUT after like an hour doesn’t matter if it’s windy, calm weather, cold, or hot everything starts transferring and smudging :((

What am I doing wrong? Or is this just normal / watery eyes behavior? 😅 Maybe I just need another pencil, I honestly don’t know.

Also generally about “eye masking” / under-eye makeup:
I used to wear regular concealers (Maybelline, L’Oréal) and they held up fine for at least a while. Now even after buying the Hourglass Vanish pressed powder, I’ll blur/set everything nicely… and then an hour later I look in the mirror and the powder has betrayed me by emphasizing every tiny crease and line that weren’t even visible before :/

I tried:
concealer (mostly L’Oréal, Catrice Eye Brightener or Influence Beauty) + Hourglass Vanish pressed powder
concealer (mostly L’Oréal) without powder + Charlotte Tilbury setting spray
Same issue. And with the setting spray it’s even worse because you can’t easily tap/fix it with your finger anymore u basically have to remove it and reapply.

I even stopped using my beloved Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream under makeup because I thought maybe it was contributing.

So now I’m thinking that in autumn (when my tan fades a bit) I might finally buy the Haus Labs concealer. I tested it in Sephora recently and it actually seemed promising long-lasting and not desperately dependent on powdering. I’m also considering the NARS Soft Matte one, but I still can’t decide whether it’s actually long-wearing or just drying.

For context:
I’m 32, thin under-eye skin, combination skin overall I think.

So PLEASE 🙏🏼
What do you personally use for:

-long-lasting but natural under-eyes
-brightening concealers
-powders that don’t age you instantly
-eye creams under makeup
-setting/fixing sprays
pencils that actually stay in the waterline/smoky eye looks without migrating everywhere

🌚Especially if you also do that slightly messy smoky/grungy under-eye makeup without heavy baking.

rewatching Barbas episode S5 and I have some questions…

Yesterday I rewatched the S5 episode with Barbas and I have SO many questions 😅

First of all ! why were Piper and Phoebe so aggressive toward Paige !? We weren’t even shown Barbas whispering anything to them at that point. Their reactions were just incredibly annoying, especially considering Paige was RIGHT and actually believed Cole when he said someone was trying to drive him insane and that he could hurt someone.
It’s funny how the sisters suddenly act like they always make perfectly rational decisions 😃 Especially Phoebe, yeah sure.

Second why couldn’t Paige orb away when Phoebe attacked her? WHAT WAS THAT? 😭 Barbas didn’t bind her powers or anything, he was messing with Phoebe’s mind at the time. And Paige just stands there trying to talk her down and lets herself get beaten up??

Third the Piper storyline where she remembers her childhood trauma. (And honestly, I do understand her fear of “waiting for something bad to happen” whenever life feels too good.) But overall? Victor sees another demon attack, argues with Grams about how demons will never let them live normal lives and the girls will always be in danger… and then he JUST LEAVES ON HER BIRTHDAY. Father of the year
actually understand Prue a lot more after that, and honestly it feels weird how later show tries to frame Victor as an almost entirely good character with a very vague explanation for why he abandoned them.

And then Phoebe… I can understand her emotions, fear, and disappointment about Cole, but her reaction was completely over the top. Even after they stripped him of his powers (which he agreed to himself), she’s still raging at both Paige and Cole nonstop.

Also, wasn’t there supposed to be an episode about Leo fear too? Maybe I’m mixing up seasons.

The fear concept itself was really interesting though. Phoebe being terrified that she’s evil, Piper comforting her while dealing with her own childhood trauma, Paige feeling insecure because she quit her job but still doesn’t feel as capable as Prue, who somehow managed to save innocents andwork full time…
Some moments genuinely hit emotionally. But other moments were SO weirdly written.

Help me with eye and under-eye products 😭

I recently tried wearing smoky eyes again (MAC Paint Pot in Tailor Grey) and lining my waterline with a black pencil (Vivienne Sabo long-lasting black pencil), slightly smudging it out at the outer corners above and below the eye ( kinda inspired by Gabriette eye looks ) BUT after like an hour doesn’t matter if it’s windy, calm weather, cold, or hot everything starts transferring and smudging :((

What am I doing wrong? Or is this just normal / “watery eyes” behavior? 😅 Maybe I just need another pencil, I honestly don’t know.

Also generally about “eye masking” / under-eye makeup:
I used to wear regular concealers (Maybelline, L’oreal) and they held up fine for at least a while. Now even after buying the Hourglass vanish pressed powder, I’ll blur/set everything nicely… and then an hour later I look in the mirror and the powder has betrayed me by emphasizing every tiny crease and line that wasn’t even visible before :/

I tried:
- concealer ( loreal mostly, catrice eye brightener or influence beauty )+ hourglass vanish pressed powder
— concealer ( loreal most of the time )without hourglass pressed powder + Charlotte Tilbury setting spray

Same issue. And with the fixing spray it’s even worse because you can’t easily tap/fix it with your finger anymore you basically have to remove it and reapply.

I even stopped using my beloved Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream under makeup because I thought maybe it was contributing.

For context:
I’m 32, thin under-eye skin, combination skin overalli think

Please help 😭 What do you personally use for long-lasting brightening/fresh under-eyes concealers, powders, creams, sprays? And I’d also love pencil recommendations for the waterline/smoky eye issue.

Weak fashion choices

We talked about the sisters fashion before, but I feel like there were also some pretty questionable “choices.” The 2 examples that immediately came to mind for me are Phoebe’s Cinderella dress ( it didn’t impress me at all) and the Mata Hari look.

What weak outfits or fashion moments do you remember?

From Soulmates to Coupon Cupid / Phoebe’s Romance Arc

Couldn’t resist making another post after the last discussion, so let’s talk about Phoebe 🙈

First of all, Phoebe was probably one of the most emotional and sensitive sisters ( honestly, which Halliwell sister wasn’t emotional in her own way?) But Phoebe specifically always felt driven by passion, love, attraction, connection, the need to truly feel alive. Love and life itself were always deeply connected for her.

That’s why it’s kind of sad to watch how much colder and more emotionally closed off she became later on. Less “I want love because I feel deeply,” and more fear-driven obsession with finding a husband and having a daughter before it’s “too late.”

Cole - sorry guys, but I liked their couple. I’ll always see him as a tragic character, not just a bad one. Yes, we can endlessly discuss the ridiculous writing choices, what the writers did to his character, his demonic nature, all of that (which this fandom does at least 3 times a week lol). But they had the best chemistry in the entire show. You can call it toxic, karmic, destructive — I’d still probably call them soulmates in their darkest and most passionate form. There was something magnetic and inevitable about them. And honestly? I still mourn that relationship in some way, even though I was never someone who watched the show only for them or considered Phoebe my favorite sister.

Jason felt like a more mature and grounded relationship between two adults. More realistic in a way. But, as always, the issue became her witch identity and the fact that he ultimately couldn’t fully accept that part of her. I was always pretty neutral about them, but I’m about to rewatch seasons 5–6, so I’m curious whether my opinion will change with time. Especially because now Eric Dane is permanently associated in my brain with Cal from Euphoria and not Jason anymore 😭

Leslie? Absolute bullshit filler relationship. Why was he even there? They had no chemistry whatsoever and didn’t feel believable together at all.

Dex… this whole storyline felt like a weird Sex and the City imitation where Phoebe suddenly turns into Carrie Bradshaw (God help us). And then they brought in Samantha’s guy from SATC, who somehow worked there but felt completely wooden in Charmed. The fake identity storyline, the glamoured appearance, the rushed magical marriage what even was that? Are we really supposed to believe Phoebe would perform “love” and build a relationship while literally pretending to be someone else just because she was desperate for a child and a future? It felt bizarre and honestly kind of sad.

Drake he brought her spark back :) That’s probably the best thing about him. It was a lighter and safer dynamic than Cole, while still allowing Phoebe to feel playful, inspired, and emotionally alive again. I’m not sure I fully believe they would’ve worked long-term, but I absolutely understand why some fans love the idea of the relationship that never happened.

And then there’s Coop and Cupids

Honestly, I think I would’ve believed Phoebe ending up with the Cupid from season 2 more than with Coop. And I don’t even particularly love that episode. But theoretically, Phoebe ending up with some magical romantic being actually makes sense for her character - she was always associated with love, attraction, sensuality, emotional intensity. Even the way the show portrayed her sexuality and “goddess” energy at times pointed toward that.
But Coop himself? Completely bland. Everything about that relationship felt rushed, forced, and emotionally empty. Once again Phoebe gets paired with the “safe nice guy” with zero charisma and almost no visible chemistry. He feels less like a real character and more like a last-minute reward the writers gave her because they wanted every sister married by the finale.

And maybe this is harsh, but sometimes it genuinely felt less like Phoebe fell in love with Coop and more like she was simply exhausted, lonely, and decided to use a living Cupid instead of a sperm bank. Sorry 😭 I swear I’ve become harsher toward him over time makes me feel even less invested in that relationship.

There were also random guys like the young guy with the cursed Egyptian urn/vase storyline and that cardboard guy Miles(?) she kept trying to save from death.

Hopefully I didn’t forget anyone lol.

Paige and Henry / Rushed but Actually Good?

here we often discuss, complain about, or debate about sisters’ boyfriends and partners, so I wanted to ask your opinion about Paige and Henry specifically.

I actually liked him, especially compared to Coop (like I wrote in another comment yesterday “He’s such a sterile, generic “nice guy” both visually and personality-wise. Like yeah, he’s technically good, but… come on, there’s just nothing there.”). Even with how rushed their relationship was I mean they met, started dating, got engaged, and married within just a few episodes (WRITERS🙊) I still think they had one of the healthiest and, most importantly, least tragic relationships in the show.

Though there were a couple things that bothered me:

- Why did nobody walk Paige down the aisle? I feel like they could’ve invited Sam, or even Victor could’ve done it as a sweet gesture. We barely saw any family there at all, and I’m also sad Leo wasn’t there.
- At the end we see them with 2 or 3 kids (I honestly forgot lol). Do you actually believe that future for Paige?
- Overall, what do you think about their dynamic and this couple in general?

Charmed sisters with absolutely no charm Billie

Billie is another deeply unlikeable character to me and honestly I genuinely think Kaley Cuoco was ( or is ) a pretty weak actress here. Yeah, we eventually get used to her in The Big Bang Theory, but there you’re not exactly expecting some incredible performance. In Charmed she was younger, constantly doing that lip-pursing thing and exaggerated facial expressions she honestly irritated me a lot. Not charismatic, not charming

Her whole character felt annoying: suddenly this young ultra-powerful witch doing random cringey flips for no reason( hello, Prue 🤣 MMA ) overly pushy, constantly inserting herself everywhere. Even when I watched as a teenager, it bothered me how she was practically living in the sisters’ house, constantly causing problems, not listening, meddling in everything, acting entitled and then her sister (who was just as annoying, along with the actress playing her) somehow still had the audacity to come after the sisters and act like they were the problem.

Yeah, obviously we can debate and stop on the writing and overall direction of season 8, but Billie herself was absolutely one of the major reasons it became so frustrating to watch.

CHARMED - Season 7 finale / TRAILER

I wanted to find the trailer for season 7 to see how they tried to build suspense around what was supposed to be the series finale. Since I didn’t watch it during the original airing and didn’t even have the original channel where the premieres came out, I got curious about how it was presented back then. Did people actually think there was a chance of a tragic ending for one of the characters, or after Prue and maybe Cole was it already obvious the sisters would win? And was it immediately known that there would be an 8 season?

While searching, I ended up finding this alternative season 7 trailer instead and honestly it’s pretty cool despite the “don’t watch till the end” impossibility :))

Corporate Heaven™ - Higher Beings, Lower Standards

You know what? Despite everything, the Elders are probably some of the most annoying long-running characters in Charmed.

They’re absolutely helpless theorists ! basically some kind of heavenly HR department in white robes, blindly following their “greater good” and “destiny” ideology… except very selectively, as the show constantly reminded us.
They kept interfering in Piper and Leo’s relationship, in the sisters’ lives in general, acting like moral authorities all the time yet somehow missed half of the truly important events and were barely useful when actual help was needed. Just unbelievably incompetent, self-righteous bores.

You know, even Dumbledore kept secrets and used Harry 😅 but honestly, the Elders aren’t even comparable.

Like seriously… what good can actually be said about them? Doing absolutely nothing since 1998

Recently there was a post here about when you first discovered or started watching Charmed

I remember that in my early childhood when we still didn’t have the cable channels that aired Charmed (for context, I’m a 94 baby), but I vividly remember seeing this photoshoot and I think even a poster in some movie/TV magazine, and instantly falling in love with it. I was so drawn to the photo itself and all of them caught my attention, especially the “sisters”. I think that’s where it started for me. Later I saw a few episodes with Prue ( i mean 1-3s) at a neighbor’s place.

Funny enough, the very first episodes I properly watched myself were actually from s8. Those early memories came back and made me want to go back and watch everything from the beginning. BUT even despite that, I still genuinely love the Prue era. Her loss both the character and Shannen still affects me emotionally. At the same time, I also love Paige.

I think all of this is also deeply tied to our own growing up, nostalgia, and being part of that transition from 90s into the 2000s especially for those of us who experienced it consciously, even as children. It also coincided with the “replacement” of the sisters, the shift in the show’s atmosphere, fashion, visual style and overall feeling.
There’s this whole layer of nostalgia and difficulty letting go of the season 1–3 era, or on the contrary, a desire to return to it and rewatch it. But maybe for some people, the middle and later seasons are actually more connected to their own youth, growing up, and personal memories.

I came across this photo again just now and it suddenly made me want to write about these memories.

Also it’s funny how Holly’ hairstyle here looks exactly like Alyssa’s in S6 😄

IF

If we imagine a hypothetical Season 9 of Charmed, either with Prue/Shannen (at some point or for the whole season) or without her what do you think could have happened?

I know there is a comic series, but I don’t fully understand how official or canon it really is (we already have enough questions about the writers’ decisions not like we need to question canon even more 😃). I think I read it a long time ago, but it was just a very brief summary and I honestly don’t remember it well.

Leaving that aside, and ignoring all the actress drama and the fact that the show’s era is long over STILL, if a Season 9 had actually been made (20 years ago or later), what do you think it could have looked like?

P.S - Ive always loved Piper/Holly, and she’s probably still my favorite overall.
But lately I keep noticing that sometimes Holly’s constant little “haha” reactions and facial expressions start to slightly annoy me 😃 The voice/faces/mannerisms it feels like she overplays them a bit sometimes, I don’t know how to explain it properly. You kind of get tired of it after a while.
I noticed it again in this interview, and podcast etc.. 🙈

Well, I’ve finished rewatching season 3 and I’m moving on but I’m still annoyed all over again by Phoebe’s behavior in episode 3x20.

You know he’s a demon and he’s been one way longer than you and yet suddenly it’s like “YOU KILLED A WITCH,” as if hesa some newborn who just made a wrong turn. As if everything he was saying “hurry, something’s wrong with me, I’m being pressured, they want me to kill” didn’t clearly point to a super powerful, evil mentor manipulating him.

But what do they do instead? They spend forever messing around with the potion. For some reason they send Cole back (seriously, what was HIS motivation to go back there?! Like, “oh it’d be awkward, bad manners they’re waiting for me?” 😃). They could’ve at least trapped him with crystals or smth while figuring things out - instead of taking ages to realize that the missing ingredient is just an alternative name for ginger… and then at the crucial moment she just spills the potion.

FOR WHAT?! So he can go on killing even more witches or innocents?

Honestly, it’s such a mess.

“You attacked Leo” and Leo couldn’t have said afterward that it wasn’t even Cole?

Ughhh 😤

  1. The weak/illogical explanation for Prue’s absence in the show (we all know the real-world reasons), but how coherent does it actually sound within the show’s lore? My versions would be smth like :

- Saying Prue herself chose not to remain as a spirit in order not to disturb the balance of power (again, if we go by some kind of prophecy was there even one?), to avoid risking everything.

- She shifted into another magical layer/dimension, and maybe continues existing as herself in a parallel universe.

- She is preparing to transition to the Elders/Whiteligheter, but needs time to let go of everything she still cares about on Earth. And even hint that one day they will meet again.

- She could appear more often at least as “guidance,” signs like Grams did before, or even temporarily lend her power in critical situations in exchange for something to defeat a threat.

  1. I think the grief over Prue should have been slightly extended. I understand why the writers didn’t do it they needed to move on and strengthen the introduction of the new sister — but I feel like that shock could have added a lot of narrative weight. For both Piper and Phoebe. Holly especially could have had more drama, a breaking point, memories, and the difficulty of moving forward whether that feels like betrayal or not.

3 Jack annoyed me 🤣🤣😅 no long explanation needed here.

  1. I feel like they skipped Andy’s grief way too quickly, considering it was their first major loss. It was only really addressed in one episode of Season 2 and that’s it. After that, Prue wasn’t really mentioned much either (though I was rewatching the episode with the empath yesterday and she did mention it when she felt Cole’s love, saying something like “the last time I felt this was with Andy” 🥺). I didn’t see Andy as a perfect partner for Prue or anything, and I wasn’t deeply in love with him as a character either, but there was still sympathy there. And after 1 month she was into dates already meh

  2. I actually liked Mark (the spirit from the Chinese mythology episode in Season 1) and there was definitely chemistry between him and Piper. Honestly, more than with the bland, sterile Dan SORRY 😅 It would’ve been nice to have him appear again for an episode, even after S 1, to help out or something. I know the mythologies and worlds are different, but still i just enjoyed the episode and their dynamic.

  3. I’ve already talked about Phoebe’s powers before since she was the one who got stripped of them the most.

That’s what I can remember right now 😅 there are probably more, but yeah it’s all very much “what if…” thinking around the edges.

Whats about you? 🌚

Let’s put aside the fact that her powers were basically dropped at some point and that her premonition ability wasn’t developed along the same trajectory as the others (there are questions about other sisters 😅too), and that she arguably should have had even sharper intuition, telepathy or time jumps, interacting with “seen” scenes whether in the past or future.

What always surprised me is that demons often said that if you go after the younger sister, she’s the easiest target the easiest to catch or lure. Okay, we know the idea that she’s more “susceptible” to evil because of her birth in the house. BUT despite the lack of active powers, premonition should let you foresee things in advance, right?)) Why didn’t she always see important moments or turning points with Cole / The Source, etc.? It feels like even without all that, she should have had the sharpest instinct and intuition.

But in the end, she would sometimes see visions, sometimes levitate, briefly become an empath and still end up in trouble 😃
