🚨 STOLEN 🚨 P Mauriat Le Bravo 200 Bari Sax

My P. Mauriat Le Bravo baritone saxophone was stolen from my truck on the morning of June 29th around 8:45am in Durham, NC.

A police report has been filed and they have the serial number in hand.

We have since learned the horn was sold that same day outside the National Pawn on Guess Road in Durham NC for $600 to someone driving a late model silver Audi.

If this sounds like you we just want the horn back. That's it.

We understand you may have bought this in good faith and had no idea it was stolen. We're not looking to cause problems for anyone who innocently purchased it. We simply want our instrument returned.

As y’all know, a baritone saxophone is a professional and in this case personalized instrument that cannot easily be replaced. It means everything to its owner.

If you have it or know where it is, please DM us privately. No drama, no trouble. Just the horn.

Please share this post. Someone in the music community may know exactly where this saxophone is right now. 🙏

🚨Update on stolen Bari Sax, Please Share!🚨

🚨 UPDATE + PLEASE SHARE 🚨

Last week my partner posted about my P. Mauriat Le Bravo baritone saxophone and Vandoren B5 bari mouthpiece being stolen from my truck in Durham, NC on the morning of June 29th around 8:45am. The response from everyone here in Bullcity was incredible, thank you!

Here is where things stand:

We have surveillance footage of the suspect attempting to sell the horn at the Tuba Exchange in Durham. We tracked it to National Pawn on Guess Road where it was sold for $600 to a man driving a late model silver Audi in the parking lot.

Police have been involved throughout and have collected footage from multiple locations. The case is active.

To whoever bought it from the parking lot of National Pawn on Guess Road:

We just want the horn back. That's it. If you purchased this saxophone recently and this sounds familiar, please DM me. No drama, no trouble, no questions asked. You bought it in good faith and we understand that.

For everyone else:

If you see a P. Mauriat Le Bravo baritone sax listed anywhere, on Marketplace, Craigslist, Reverb, OfferUp, or anywhere else, please do not buy it and DM me immediately.

This horn means everything. Please share. 🙏

Did you know there are like a 100 buried waterways around downtown Durham? I got obsessed and tried to map them.

Ever since moving back to the area I haven't been able to get over the idea that some of my favorite moments in cities usually involve being near a body of water. After hearing that Raleigh has been exploring some daylighting projects where they're bringing buried creek beds back to life, I started wondering what it could look like for Durham to do something similar.

After doing some digging around, I found GIS data for riverbeds and culverts(e.g. underground pipes built to let water pass under construction) and pulled them together into a map of DT durham.

Some discoveries of note:

  • You can see the adorabs little creek that pops up and runs downtown by central park
  • Most of this water runs from the Ellerbee Creek watershed and connects with the Ellerbee creek watershed restoration project that's hopefully getting opened soon 🤞🏽.
  • There's a pretty little fork of a creek that runs under the very underused parking lot that sits in the middle of downtown 🤔.

Would love to hear what others run into when exploring this dataset.

Also I'm currently missing data for areas under ATC and west of 147. If anyone has leads for those data sets, lmk!
